So I have been a fashion zero as of late, and I HATE that. If I don't feel sassy, I don't have the same energy and spunk in my day.
I have been feeling sick for far too long. Last night I CRASHED after class, came home and passed out, makeup and all. I fell asleep with socks, a tee shirt, two blankets and a comforter. Didn't even have the strength to turn off the bedside lamp.
Woke up with the alarm in a pool of sweat. I was DYING, I was so hot. But I think the sweating got rid of a huge portion of my cold. And it made my hair look terrific! i took a shower, carefully keeping my hair dry. I hit the edges with a straightening iron and I looked haute.
White Wrinkle-Free oxford bought at Eddie Bauer, tucked into my favorite vintage Gap jeans. Black merino of my husband's tied around my neck (it's bigger so it drapes better). Black stilletto boots with a pointy toe. Silver necklace made of multiple silver discs. Super big but thin silver hoops. Silver cuff. Makeup is a dramatic liquid liner, put on a bit more intensely, and several coats of mascara. i.d. Bare Escentuals face, pale pink gloss. Sort of a porcelin doll effect. I look good. I click clack on the marble floor of the office building foyer and i caught a glance of my reflection - I am sassy.
Hey, Dilly, I was reading in bed last night & I remembered a comment I left for you about books. You had read The Devil Wears Prada and didn't like how dark it was, you were going to read The Nanny Diaries & I said NO NO NO YOU WILL HATE IT.
ReplyDeletebut the book I was reading last night is a New York Book YOU WILL LOVE. It's called Women About Town by Laura Jacobs. Here's a sample
"There was a certain solace in knowing she looked good, slim and trim in her vintage Norell flyaway jacket with the upturned collar and long cigarette skirt, her glossy black alligator bag and Chanel slingbacks. Not quite IN fashion--rather, she hoped, beyond it."
Thank you for the suggestion! My sister gave me In Her Shoes this weekend to read before seeing the movie and i will finish it today. I'll pick this one up next!
