I Need to Hit the Mall

I hate my wardrobe. I really do. Everything seems overdone. Today i am wearing an outfit that is sooo tired, but didn't know what else to wear. I mean, I look nice, but I don't feel sassy in it any more.


This picture weasn't taken to show how unsassy I am feeling, but it does hit the nail on the head. Really, the picture is to show my new Revlon lipgloss - Pearl Plum. A nice color, great sparkle without looking bubble gum, decent taste, and the right amount of stickiness. $5.97 at Target.

Today is my stretch denim blazer that I used to adore, but I have gotten tired of. Under is a turquoise silk knit v-neck shell. Black leather cord holding chunky silver pendant right at the neck. Black stretch twill bootcut trousers, my black high heeled boots. And you can see my makeup - only a bit of fawn shadow, black mascara, blush and the new gloss.

Today at the gym, I was watching a woman leave the gym in a highly coordianted outfit and I realized I never mention what I wear to the gym. Why not? Well because I am an embarassment at the gym. Today I wore a jade colored stretch scoop tee. A tee I used to wear to work and out with friends until it had an accident with some bleach. I tried to splatter the whole thing, make it look funky and 80's but it just looks like a green tee with white bleach stains. On the bottom were some sueded cotton drawstring pants. They have one cargo pocket that I can slip my ID in. They were miles too long so I sliced off the hem, leaving a ragged mess. Two white mismatched socks and a new pair of gray-blue and orange New Balance sneaks that are tres comfy. And my hair? You know those accordion headbands that were popular in the late 90's? Well I wear one of those to hold back my bangs, and then an elastic to put the rest in a pony tail.

I look disgusting. But as I stretch in front of the plate glass window, watching the highly coordinated woman with her lilac towel, sports bra, piped yoga pants, gym bag and hoodie head to her car, I wonder if she comes to the gym for a workout or for a date. I feel as though I will concentrate on that elliptical more if I am not attractive - people won't look at me, I won't look to see if people are looking at me, I just turn up my headphones and pound the machine.
