Short Lived

I woke up early so I could shower and get all dolled up before my husband got home from work. We had a morning date to "be as man and wife" before I headed off for my daily commute.

Hair straightened, soft eye, this adorable mango (reddish orangey pink) mesh thong with a big pink satin bow sewn at the tailbone. An Asian inspired short silk robe - a pale gray background with electric pink, rose, lime, plum and magenta pattern. Two necklaces of mango colored glass chips. Similar mango color strappy satin heels. Perfume on my ankle bones.

Then after our tryst, I had to head to Corporate America. Got to work a bit early, and with a smile on my face.

Kept with the orange theme for work. My orange-red fine gauge cotton v-neck from J. Crew, white Favorite Tank from J. Crew underneath. Gray suiting trouers from Ann Taylor, my black pointy heeled boots. Silver hoops and cuff. Bronze tinted lipbalm from Origins, dusting of bronzer.



And then I got to work, plugged in my laptop, opened Outlook and got a call on my cell. My mom. She had been in a car accident and was being taken to the hospital. I immediately got in my car and drove to see her.

And as I drove out of my office parking lot I thought,

Barely anyone saw my outfit today... I can wear these pants again tomorrow!

By the way folks, my mom is just fine. Her car is a wreck, but she is healthy. that is why I feel okay joking about my pants!
