I have owned a top from Banana Republic for years. Looks liek denim, lightweight like cotton. Think Tencel, that look. it's a tunic style with the notched neck, slitted cuffs, hip length. Well I ordered a size Large and an XL... boy this was like five years ago. Got matching pants too that were horrid.
Well the pants are int he attic, the size Large shirt was given to a friend (cut very straight, no room for my boobies) and the large was like a maternity shirt on me so it sat in my closet wasting space. this weekend I thought - hey, haven't ever worn the shirt, might as well try washing and drying it and see if it shrinks.
Eureka! It shrank, got a bit softer and not fits much better. Still a relaxed fit, but in a cute Boho sort of way. I am wearing it with another of my pairs of ivory sueded bootcut trouers from Ann Taylor - the looser, mroe relaxed version. A long strand necklace from Target - beads of silver, pale seaglass green and sky blue around my neck. Silver cuff bracelet. On my feet are beaded thong salndals from Seychelles. The whole top is beaded in brown, silver, copper, some red and teal. Low wedge-like wood heel.
Hair is second-day dirty, straightened with an iron, touch of Sebastian Mud for definition.
Makeup is Smashbox primer, L'Oreal True Match foundation, MAC Stick concealer, Benefit's f..y..eye!, Chanel pressed powder. Bare Minderals' Warmth on my cheeks. On my lids I have Clinique Snow in the inner corners and Body Shop's Fawn Pearl on the lids. Lashes curled thanks to Shu Eumura and two coats of MAC X mascara in black. On lips is one of those L'Oreal anti-feathering lipcolors that Andie MacDowell pimps, it's a soft plummy-nude color with a hint of shimmer.
