My Wardrobe Today - Monday

Dress - White House | Black Market (not available online)
Belt - Another Line (similar)
Shoes - Miss Sixty (similar)
Jacket - Gap (similar)
Bag - Sabina (similar)

Yesterday I went to the mall with my friend. With Friends & Family and sale events happening at Gap, Talbots, Ann Taylor, Express, White House | Black Market, Nordstrom, LOFT and more we decided it would be best to hit the mall to see these great bargains in person.

The only thing of note that I purchased was this dress, which was on the clearance rack, and my friend also purchased for herself. Today I felt a bit more rock & roll, but I imagine this dress with feminine pumps and a skinny belt, in winter with a pashmina and tall boots, and maybe next time worn with an accent color. The dress is uber comfortable - a nice weight of jersey that has weight, drapes nicely, and the pleated skirt swishes when you walk.

Other than this dress, I got two pairs of tights (black super opaque and berry), and one pair of earrings (brushed gold chandelier). I really wasn't inspired. And if you can believe it, the only thing I got at Ann Taylor for their Friends & Family was their leopard wrap skirt, which I got online and should receive this week. While there is much out there that I WANT, there is very little that I NEED.

This weekend was quite lovely. Friday night my husband and I went to dinner in town, then went to the community theater to see our friend star in their version of Alice in Wonderland. After, we went to his house to celebrate his performance and also wish safe travels to his girlfriend and my good friend (she is going to South Africa for a month to work at an animal sanctuary). Saturday I did a lot of necessary cleaning around the house - FINALLY got everything back in the repaired closet, packed up all my husband's summer clothes for the attic, washed all the laundry. Yesterday I went to the mall with my friend and after my husband made dinner for the four of us (her husband joined us).

How was your weekend? Score any great sales this Veterans Day weekend?

That is one knock-out dress, Allie! And is it me, or is your hair getting more and more fab all the time?  : >

  5. Dry shampoo! Finally found a great choice - Klorane. If I brush enough it doesn't make my hair look ashy. Works great to make a straightened hair style last more days without needing to be washed (this is Day 2).

  6. I love that dress! I have been on the hunt for a cute accordion pleat skirt- that's awesome that you got it in a dress!

  7. I agree, somehow I felt a skirt would be too much bulk at the belly, but the dress makes the location of the pleats more customizable!

  8. I've been reading your blog for about a year, and given all your posts about your love of music and how relaxed you look in this picture, I would say this look is really you! Terrific!

  10. This outfit is total Rock and Roll Chic. Loving it.  I scored some tops at F21 because I was looking for something a little trendier and that I can layer under cardis and jackets. Nothing else really inspired me either or maybe because i've been buying too much of things I don't need.

  11. I did so much carrying items around the store and then putting them back after a while because I just couldn't justify. F21 is so good for little tops to transform already-owned outfits!

  15. I really love the belt you put with this dress! And I like the jacket you're wearing, and I think you rock it, but for some reason I can't get behind zippered jackets. They're too reminiscent of hoodies for my taste.

  16. Love the dress! I looks so comfortable, but dressy at the same time. I did some shopping at Old Navy, a sparkly skinny belt, a lacey black tank, and a navy boat neck dress. You look fab as usual lady.

  18. It is pretty comfy, and held up through the day.  I didn't even get a chance to hit up Old Navy this weekend, sounds as though you got some great pieces!

  19. Too funny, I love zippered jackets because they remind me of my motorcycle jacket from high school! :)

  20. I wore that exact same Gap jacket this weekend. I adore it but find it tricky to wear because it's so short on me! Looks adorable in this outfit and I LOVE that dress. You look fabulous!
