Blogger Favorite Beauty Buys of 2013: Concealer/Foundation Edition

Beauty

At the end of each year, I share what I found to be the best beauty buys from the past 12 months. Some are new products, some are just new to me. Many of you tell me you find the posts incredibly helpful, and I must say I also find them helpful when I read them on other blogs. This year, I decided to ask my favorite bloggers to share their single favorite beauty product from 2013 and I must say their choices have made my shopping list a mile long! I was honored to have so many bloggers share their faves, I have broken it down into six editions; this one focuses on the base of all makeup – foundation, concealers, and more.

“My favorite Beauty Buy of 2013 is easily my Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage! I'm a new mom and have had to shorten my makeup routine. Since I've started using the Laura Mercier concealer I barely have to put much effort into my morning routine. I look fresh faced and ready for the day in a matter of minutes! It may pricier than most items in my makeup bag but I couldn't live without it!”

– Joanne, Fabulously Average

Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream is my top discovery of the year by far! Coverage is medium to full and GLOWY so while it covers every single imperfection (with little to no need for concealer) it doesn't completely wash out my skin tone. It also works to lessen dark spots, leaving me with a much more even complexion. I am constantly receiving compliments on my skin, which if you know me, is quite troubled. But the proof is in the purchase: As someone who is constantly changing up her beauty routine, this is one product that I have been faithful to for three tubes now!”

– Lara, The Glossarie

Chanel CC cream! It costs a pretty penny, but the color is perfect for my skintone (a pale olive) and it's ultra pigmented without feeling heavy or cakey.”
– Nicolette, Nicolette Mason

Clarins Instant Concealer. It not only conceals but also smooths texture of skin, and doesn't settle into lines or look cakey after a few hours. I don't have terrible dark circles but a bit of under-eye concealer does help me to look more awake. It also works to minimize the appearance of dark spots. A very very small amount is all you need and it goes a long way.”

I always say I learn the most from you, readers.  Some of my Holy Grail beauty products are ones you recommended in the comments.  So let me and everyone else know, what were your best skincare buys in 2013?
