Now why didn’t I think of this? Just received Booty Shapers in the mail. Nope, they aren’t tools to make you resemble Kim Kardashian – they are inflatable boot supports. Fill them up, and tuck them into your tall boots to prevent creasing and bending. The ones I have are an adorable black and gray leopard print. How brilliant – perfect for travel and for summer storage of tall boots! You can find them at places like Bed Bath & Beyond, CVS, and Drugstore.com.

I have the most jam-packed Google Reader. These days I seem to find another fabulous and unique Web site or blog every hour! My latest fave is I want to be her! So utterly cute!

Is anyone heading to the Hobo International sample sale this weekend? It’s in Annapolis. If you are a local yokel and are going, let me know and maybe we can meet up! I plan to go Saturday morning if life (and Emerson) permits!

I went and picked up my wedding set – it was a reputable jeweler and I don’t want to leave these rings with just anyone. However after doing some research (and hearing from “Gator Girl in the City” from Two Preps in a Pod) I believe I can have them resized for half the price and still feel as though I am not going to get shoddy work or have someone switch out my stone.

I am in charge of bringing a vegetable dish for Thanksgiving. Each year I make the classic green bean casserole. Now that I am doing Weight Watchers I want to do something utterly delish but lower in points. What are your favorite veggie dish recipes?

Speaking of Weight Watchers, I know I haven’t done an update lately. I’ll be honest, I stopped going to meetings for a month. Work was hectic, life was hectic, and I just didn’t FEEL like it. This past Thursday my friend Shelly convinced me to go and even went with me to my meeting. I was afraid to get on that scale, but was happy to see that over that whole month I only gained one pound. I didn’t see this as failure, but success. My new life habits have stuck. Now I just need to get the habit of meetings to stick! I will be going this Thursday, and look forward to removing at least that one pound this week!

    Crudite is always popular! And I like making the leftovers from the tray into soup – maybe with any turkey leftovers too.

    What about a green beans & shallots dish? Keeping the spirit of the tradition, but lightened up. Plus I love shallots.

    You also want something that can easily be reheated in the oven since spots on the stove is always full.

    I don’t know what prices are like in DC, but I live outside of Philly and paying $400 to get two rings sized is outrageous! If they can stretch them and don’t have to add any gold (or whatever your rings are made of), it shouldn’t cost very much at all. You should definitely shop around as far as a jeweler is concerned.     For veggies, I have twice baked sweet potatoes and Green Beans with Yellow Pepper Butter! Both super yum. Hope this helps!

    Also, that is awesome that you only gained 1 lb in a month away… you should definitely be celebrating that as a success.

    I second the roasted asparagus with parmesan. This is one of my go-to weeknight meals, and I fixed it for my mom right before Thanksgiving last year, so she prepared it with the Thanksgiving meal she made for her friends. It was a huge hit. People like having a little something lighter I think.

    Oh, and for budget booty shapers, I use rolled up magazines. They keep the shaft nice and tall and keep the creases out. Plus, it is nice to reuse a magazine so that it is not in the trash!

    Roasted asparagus is fabulous – olive oil, kosher salt & ground pepper then add some shredded parmesan after pulling it from the oven – so so good!

    hmmm good recipes- there is a pumpkin macaroni & cheese recipe out there.

    also, roasted brussels sprouts is a good one.

    green beans cooked with smoked pork chops (really low fat!) instead of ham hocks are also good (or without all of it, if you’re a vegetarian)

    Roasted butternut squash

    roasted asparagus

    (pretty much any veggie, roasted)
