cabi fashion flash 2018I love how cabi always keeps their fashion fresh, and how each collection styles nicely with each other. Just this week, cabi's Fashion Flash launched, a small capsule of pieces from the Spring 2018 collection. These pieces blend beautifully with the current collection and give a taste of what's to come January 19th month when the entire Spring 2018 collection launches!

When cabi invited me to pick some pieces from the Fashion Flash collection, I immediately chose the Amelia jacket. I loved the color and how it brought some cheer to a winter wardrobe of darker shades. Pink is surprisingly versatile, looking amazing with all neutrals, red and berry tones, and beautifully brings out the details in denim. However, if you look closely at this jacket you'll find it's actually a stretchy doubleknit very pale pink fabric with red threads woven through!  It always impresses me how cabi has such attention to detail and chooses fabrics that are a bit more complex and interesting. This jacket runs boxy, if unsure size down. As for the denim, I loved the black Slim Boyfriend jeans from the Fall 2017 line (see them on me in this post), so I knew I'd also adore the Spring 2018 version in classic denim blue decorated with patches.  As with the black Slim Boyfriends from fall, I used cabi's tutorial to cut them shorter so they'd be a cropped length with a frayed hem.

The Pepper Cape has been a favorite this winter; in fact I'm wearing it right now as I type this!

Anyone who books a February Fashion Experience with a cabi Stylist will receive 50% off a Fashion Flash item (must be redeemed by 1/31). A 2018 goal for Wardrobe Oxygen is to use this platform to feature Prince George's County, Maryland, where I grew up, went to college, and live today. These photos were taken at Gus' World Famous Fried Chicken in Greenbelt, Maryland. A single restaurant in Mason, Tennessee in the 1980's, the second Gus' opened in Memphis in 2001 and now there are over 20 locations across the country. This location is the only one in the DC area (and was just reviewed in the Washington Post!). The staff is so friendly, the restaurant is utterly charming and always clean, and the chicken is deserving of the title World Famous.  While it's a bit spicy, Emerson enjoys it and she freaks out about anything spicy. While there be sure to check out their sides which also deserve accolades; the fried okra is amazing and they always have a fab variety of pies you can buy whole or by the slice.  The Greenbelt location also has a private room for parties and small events. Whether you come there to eat or order a meal to go, you won't be disappointed visiting!

  1. Love love love the jacket! Im usually a cardigan gal, but I think the jacket would work just as well. now, to find a consultant

  2. Jan Janura (husband and co-owner) is super conservative — he’s been on conservative talk radio and has given money to a candidate that opposes a women’s right to choose and marriage equality. Plus it is a MLM. Not really a company I can support.

    1. Jan Janura left the company in 2012 and it is not an MLM. While it is sold at home, profits aren’t made in a pyramid-scheme method. Before you criticize be sure you can back up your claims. I choose to work with cabi because it is a unique business model, woman-owned, and does so much to help women in the US and abroad.
