As someone who is 5'3″ and has been everything between a 12 and 16W during her adult life, Lane Bryant has been a reliable go-to that just gets better and better over time. Did you know Lane Bryant offers an entire collection of petites and many pants and jeans are available in petite as well as regular, short, and long?

As someone who is usually a 14 petite, occasionally a 16 in some brands, I find a 12WP or 10/12 at Lane Bryant often fits me better than “straight” sizes. I had a chance to shop the Holiday Friends + Family sale early; these are the items I picked and my thoughts, along with what else from the sale I think is worth checking out:

Closet Basics

This is the kind of sale where you can stock up on closet basics at the best price. This lightweight turtleneck is chic on its own or as a necessary base layer when the temps drop. I own this waffle-knit top, and it's more interesting than a classic tee, looking great alone or under flannels and shackets. I own these jeans; they offer a really great fit for us grown women with soft curves. These are excellent pants that dress up and down with ease (available in four colors in petite, regular, short, and long).

Foundation Updates for the Season

Winter is a great time to update your intimates to finish the year off comfortably and stylishly and start the new year off right. I have loved Cacique bras from Lane Bryant for years and find the quality and fit quite good. I am a personal fan of the Comfort Bliss collection; it's elegant, comfortable, fits great, and comes in some gorgeous prints as well as classic solid colors. As a petite curvy gal, I find the Comfort Bliss hipsters a great fit.

Holiday Dressing While It's In Stock

Raise your hand if you too forget and then last minute try to find something red or green or festive feeling for that holiday get together. NOW is the time to get your holiday fashion while there is a great stock of styles, sizes, and the best prices.

OMG, I swoon over these pants (petite and three lengths offered) with or without the matching blazer. I own these petite-friendly pants, which are so cute with a classic white shirt, simple black sweater, or worn to jazz up your ugly Christmas sweater. This dress is perfect for family holiday photos, as well as when you're trying to look cute while furiously hosting and cooking on the holiday (totally cute with boots, flats, even sneakers).

Get Your Glam On (Again, Pre-Stress and Pre-Selling Out)

Sure you want to dress for good tidings, but it's also a great time to shop for that champagne toast and the ball drop. This sequin jumpsuit is so gorg and it comes in petite and long options! This is the perfect sparkly shell to go under your lady tux or wear solo with palazzo pants, a fab ball skirt, or even denim trousers. This dress is adorable, and this is the perfect glam top to pair with jeans for a more casual yet festive gathering; this sweater is another pretty alternative I personally own.

As I mentioned in a recent Substack, now is the time to visit Lane Bryant for fun and festive shoes. I have these en route to me, I am tempted to get these, and while not a pair of shoes, this belt is calling my name as a way to bling up a simple sweater and jeans.

Occasion Dressing for Now and Later

I am a big fan of ponte suiting, and Lane Bryant has several pieces that will work great for the holidays and beyond. This jacket with sparkly buttons is timeless and perfect for three seasons of special occasions. This embellished ponte blazer is a badass alternative. Pair with these ponte bootcut pants or these ponte straight pants for a comfortable yet elevated look and manage the formality or fun with your shell/base layer and shoes.

You may want to buy more than one of this dress as in red it's great for the holidays or a non-winter date night, but in other colors can also be great for work, weddings, funerals, and other occasions. Chiffon overlay and velvet trim makes for a classic and chic dress perfect for winter special occasions. And this black jumpsuit can work all year round and go from casual to dressy with a switch of accessories.

Winter Weather Prep

Whether you're just entering Sweata Weatha or already donning outerwear, colder temps are right around the corner. I've been looking for a lightweight hooded puffer that's easy to pack down for travel and throw on for camping and cooler fall evenings and just got this one in red. It's perfect. I think this short jacket is so cute, am so into this leopard carcoat, and if you like a little more length on your puffer, this one comes in such chic colors.
