This is a pretty casual outfit for me to wear to work.  I bought this shirt at Target a couple of weeks ago without trying it on in the store.  Got home and didn't like it.  I put it and the receipt on the dining table so I could go to Target that weekend and return it and my husband didn't realize, threw the receipt away and the shirt in the laundry.  So I ended up with this shirt!

I actually wore this same outfit last night; there was a weekend music festival in town and last night we went to dinner at the local cafe to listen to some bands.  It's more of a weekend look for me, but I wasn't feeling especially creative this AM. And I know, white before Memorial Day?  One reason I got these jeans is because they are such thick, heavy denim.  I feel that the weight and texture make them wearable before summer.

I just got these jeans last week and am not sure about them.  As mentioned, they are a nice thick denim with a slight texture to them that just makes them look more premium.  No crazy details, no bling.  These are petite, but a perfect length for me to wear with heels.  They have stretch, but don't stretch out during the day.  The only thing is there is no contour for the waist.  I think they go straight up from the crotch and when I sit or bend over the pants don't move with me, causing Plumber's Crack.  I am wearing them with a belt, which is keeping them in place, but I have to cinch the jeans a bit which is NOT flattering with a shorter or tucked-in top.

This is a reason why I haven't had any great white jeans in the past couple of years.  They stretch out and make me look as though I am wearing a diaper by lunchtime, or else they are so sheer you can see my nude thong through them.  If they are more rigid of denim, they often times seem to have a weird shape (too tight in legs, too wide in hips).  These are the best of the bunch, and the price was reasonable.

  1. What a great summery, late-spring look! The white jeans look like they fit great, and I am glad you managed to get the top to work even though it was supposed to be returned! (I hate when that happens.)

  2. I love this look–the chambray with the white–and it reminds me of all the great things you can do with white jeans! I think it looks fab, and my mom and I were just saying yesterday that we think the Memorial Day mark should be moved up to Mother’s Day to account for global warming. So…according to us, you’re good!

  3. Sounds good to me! There’s so many things in my wardrobe begging for white jeans. However with them looking awful with a tucked-in tee, they aren’t as versatile as I would like. May have to get another pair…

  4.  Maybe it’s the neck of the woods I live in but they won’t budge without a
receipt.  I should have taken it to a different Target .  Thanks for
telling me that, now I know for future purchases!

  5.  The Target stores in my area takes returns without receipts if you can provide them with the card on which you made the purchase.  They scan the item and the card.  It is probably a nationwide policy.

I have done this several times.  Sometimes the clerk has offered to do it to avoid watching me search my bag for the receipt.

  6. You look hawt, lady! I love the beachy, slightly-undone vibe of this outfit. I ofent try that, but still wind up looking like a 50’s housewife. Ha!

  7. I’ve been wanting a chambray shirt and I really like yours. The price is right too. Looks great with your white jeans. I have several pairs of Kut from the Klot
