Friday night I got home and realized I spilled on my dress, so I switched to the dress that arrived in the mail – the “Kate” dress from J. Crew in “Flame.” This is a bright orange-red that I adore. On sale and with a coupon so the dress was a cheap as Old Navy. Score! Same accessories.
Attended a circle of women in my community which was really wonderful. Met some new people, connected closer with those I already knew, had some of the BEST watermelon of the season!
Saturday… for the life of me I cannot remember Saturday. Oh yes, yoga, then lunch with my mom, then ran errands. I came home and tried out some of the camping supplies for our upcoming trip to Bonnaroo, waterproofed my Duo boots, took a nap, went out to dinner… nothing terribly exciting and no pictures.
Sunday began with errands and then yoga.

by Lissa T. Three or so years ago, I discovered the sustainable brand Christy Dawn via the magic of social media marketing. Christy Dawn was actually the first sustainable fashion brand that attracted my eye and got me thinking about fashion and sustainability. When Alison invited me to write about sustainable fashion brands, I suggested a… Continue Reading Christy Dawn Review: Sustainable Fashion up to 3X; Unpaid Honest Review
When I was in college, I thought I needed to lose weight. I wore bikinis, short cutoff denim shorts and belly-baring tops but decided I was fat because I couldn’t fit into my petite roommate’s size 4 dresses from Contempo Casuals. I remember going to a vintage store, seeing the most gorgeous long beaded caftan… Continue Reading What Are You Waiting For?
I actually ended up adding my Banana Republic Outlet collarless black ponte jacket and my gray print shawl as a scarf since it was so cold. Went for my monthly appointment and the nurse said I was a sassy pregnant diva – felt nice, considering my hair was acting crazy because I rushed and used… Continue Reading Monday Oct 06, 2008
Companies spend so much on advertising and marketing… I love it when they do it well. This time last year I posted about a fabulous truck I saw on the DC streets – Marshalls filled a glass box with tons of covetable shoes. I know it stopped me in my tracks and had me look… Continue Reading Marshalls Shoe MegaShop Does it Again!
Looking back on this week, I feel the theme was “I don’t shine if you don’t shine,” which is taken from Shine Theory. Ann Friedman and Aminatou Sow (well known for their fab podcast Call Your Girlfriend as well as individual projects and an upcoming book) coined Shine Theory, which is collaborating rather than competing… Continue Reading Weekend Reads #49
The best way to update your wardrobe each season is with accessories. It’s an easy and lower-cost way to incorporate current fashion trends, and it’s more likely for that accessory to be wearable past the trend (or when the trend returns) than a garment. While we have had many years of “It Bags” being the… Continue Reading Fab Bags For Spring Under $100

LOVE that dress with those sandals. What a fantastic color, reminds me of that long ago blood orange Mizrahi sweater at Target.
