Alison 152Alison 153First day at the new job! It was really pretty out, took flats for trekking around and a pashmina for warmth and that was about it.

Teal merino bateau-neck sweater from Banana Republic ('07), black pencil skirt from Old Navy ('07), leopard peeptoe heels from BCBGirls ('07), tortoise necklace from beach boutique ('07), and gold bangles from Ralph Lauren ('07).

Hair was second day, some sections curled and then Jonathan Silky Dirt twirled around sections.

Makeup is Smashbox Photofinish foundation primer, philosophy The Supernatural in Beige, Cargo Matte BeachBlush in Tenerife, Revlon ColorStay shadow quad in Neutral Khakis – ivory in inner corner, khaki on lids. Lashes curled and two coats of DiorShow, Maybelline UltraLiner in black on top lash line. On lips is Revlon Shiny Sheers in Sheer Cocoa Glaze.

I felt like such a city girl – walking from the Metro with my pashmina blowing in the breeze. A guy in the elevator said my shoes were “fierce” and said “my owner is FUN!” The elevator operator agreed (yes my office has elevator operators! How retro!). My coworkers seem very nice and cool and I like my office. I didn't do much investigating at lunch and only walked a block to Chipotle and realized there is actually not a Starbucks on my route, but there is a Caribou Coffee right across the street. After work my sister and friend took me out for a celebratory drink at a posh Old Boys School-esque bar attached to a hotel. It was quite fun. Allie in the City!

There are no pictures from Wednesday because my husband has decided to paint the hallway. This means the rug, the table, the artwork and everything else is in the room with the full-length mirror to the point that one cannot fully open or close the room’s door. Also the light in that room? Well the…

Today I didn’t go to yoga – I really had a lot of errands to do and instead I gave the dog some TLC with a nice walk through the woods. Ran all around town wearing my burgundy merino shift from Banana Republic, black thermal long-sleeved tee from Old Navy and tan Bern boots from…

I don’t think this pictures accurately show how darn patootin’ cute this dress and outfit is! I usually don’t get so riled up, but this dress is very fun and cheap. Cheap makes it even cuter! I feel that it makes up for my fashion doldrums of late. Olive (far more green than it shows…

New pants!  These were originally $110 but on sale for $49.50 at Ann Taylor.  They are charcoal with a gray faint stripe on them and the sort of fabric that can be worn year-round.  Nice flat waist with a tab waistband so it doesn’t dig, it doesn’t roll, it doesn’t highlight a muffin top.  Hurrah. …
