In last week’s The Friday Shop, I mentioned that Soft Surroundings reached out and asked if I’d like to try some of their clothing. I haven’t shopped Soft Surroundings in a while. I think this is my last Soft Surroundings post and that was 2017… but hey I was so ahead of the curve styling…

I asked to leave early today for a doctor’s appointment. I don’t think my boss believes me, I think he thinks I am going to an interview. I don’t have a doctor’s appointment and my other appointment was cancelled last night after work. I am still taking off the afternoon for my “doctor’s appointment” and…
Black cotton wrap shirt from Ann Taylor, black stretch poplin trousers (front crease ironed in) by Caslon, black synthetic cami from Victoria’s Secret, black city boots from Impo (wanted to wear the leopard heels but it was very cold out and I thought I may have to walk to a different building for a meeting),…
Brown merino 3/4 sleeve v-neck sweater from Gap, beige stretch poplin trousers from Caslon, brown bead necklace from my mom’s jewelry box, tan leather thong heels from target, silver cuff. Friday I worked from home and spent the day in a dark red nursing tank from Bravado, black yoga pants from Old Navy and a black hoodie from Gap. Saturday, we had some friends stop by. They have a son who is six months older than Emerson, and they got to meet one another. It…
This is one of the best looks I’ve seen on any blog for awhile. It just jumps off the screen. Love Love Love.
Thank you Lesley!
I have a rule not to keep anything that isn’t used in a year. I wash my clothes once a month to make sure I use everything for that season once. It helps me figure out what is bad beyond repair and trash it instead of letting things linger in the back of the wardrobe. It also helps see what has minor flaws and repair the items.
I am a firm believer that everything you own should be used, that no joy comes from having a pretty thing that you never look at or wear. My paintings, prints and art are all on the walls, the china I have is the one I use everyday. I would say I am a “baroque minimalist”, as I don’t strive for the aesthetic of minimalism and I own plenty of stuff, but it all gets used and loved – loved to destruction.
I say love your Louboutin gloss to destruction.
That blouse is just the perfect set of colors for you!
You look amazing — and you are so right about using the good stuff rather than saving it.
You look great in red!
Fabulous outfit! I never would have looked twice at that blouse based on the model but it is amazing on you.
Would love to see it styled with dress pants or a jumpsuit!
Love this blouse!!
Thanks Jaymie!
