Though it may be snowing outside in the Nation’s Capital, I know it will be toasty warm in my office. I never understand why bad weather forces women to look like shlumps. The majority of people going to work in this country walk less than a block from their cars through freshly plowed and salted…

Meeting with client, first time to emet them and to kickoff the project. Gray suit from Tahari, salmon silk-knit scoop neck cap sleeved shell from Ann Taylor, black city boots from Enzo. Hair was dried straight with the craptastic hotel room dryer and a round brush – I was packing light. I then added a…
This is what I wore yesterday when I was the guest speaker at a class on blogging and marketing at Howard University. When I got home, Karl snapped a few photos. I wanted to look accessible but not too try-hard, polished but not stuffy. My friend who is the professor of the class offered a…

This is one of the best looks I’ve seen on any blog for awhile. It just jumps off the screen. Love Love Love.
Thank you Lesley!
I have a rule not to keep anything that isn’t used in a year. I wash my clothes once a month to make sure I use everything for that season once. It helps me figure out what is bad beyond repair and trash it instead of letting things linger in the back of the wardrobe. It also helps see what has minor flaws and repair the items.
I am a firm believer that everything you own should be used, that no joy comes from having a pretty thing that you never look at or wear. My paintings, prints and art are all on the walls, the china I have is the one I use everyday. I would say I am a “baroque minimalist”, as I don’t strive for the aesthetic of minimalism and I own plenty of stuff, but it all gets used and loved – loved to destruction.
I say love your Louboutin gloss to destruction.
That blouse is just the perfect set of colors for you!
You look amazing — and you are so right about using the good stuff rather than saving it.
You look great in red!
Fabulous outfit! I never would have looked twice at that blouse based on the model but it is amazing on you.
Would love to see it styled with dress pants or a jumpsuit!
Love this blouse!!
Thanks Jaymie!
