“Oooh Mommy you look like a princess!” is the first thing I heard from Emerson this morning. And for a pretty craptastic morning (I won't go into details, just trust me it sucked), such a fun skirt did make everything a bit better. Tonight I am going to NOVA Fashion Week's “Behind the Scenes” event – if you are going (and you should!) you'll know what I am wearing (though I may have a jacket on over this) so you can find me in the crowd!

I don’t think this pictures accurately show how darn patootin’ cute this dress and outfit is! I usually don’t get so riled up, but this dress is very fun and cheap. Cheap makes it even cuter! I feel that it makes up for my fashion doldrums of late. Olive (far more green than it shows…

  1. Excellent combination of soft and tough – a modern day princess look, and it’s great on you. Such a cute pose with your little girl 🙂

  2. Before I even saw the title of the post I thought “ooh she looks like a princess!” Love the outfit in the pictures and in person!

  3. Love it!! A loves it when I wear a dress or skirt to work and always asks me to twirl. That pink look so soft. It is 91 here today, so I have to ask, is it light? Breathable?

  4. Wow, that skirt is a amazing! Love it paired the the belt/top. I think I’d be tempted to twirl around non-stop in it. 😉

  5. Alison, thank you so much for your comment! I love this princess skirt and I think you styled it in a very wearable way! I love the contrast of the black top, belt and shoes! I just spent a while reading your blog and I love that your style is everyday chic. I am definitely inspired!

  6. Not sure Kristina, seems fine for me but you are not the only one to have issues. I have notified Disqus and hope to get a resolution. Also going to see if I can go back to the old Disqus until it’s fixed for all. Thanks for the feedback!

  7. This is amazing as we’d hoped it would be. I need to talk H into “letting” me buy it right now. You look stunning, Alison, and Emerson is right – outta the mouths of babes – you are a princess.
