Picture 043Picture 045Oh yeah baby, what ya'll have all been waiting for – actual maternity clothing!!!

Last night I got home from a tour of a birthing center and there was a box from Target. I needed a bathing suit and the halter tankini from Liz Lange for Target has gotten great ratings as attractive and not matronly. I had a gift card from Ebates, so I decided to treat myself to a cool maternity top as well. Love the tankini – it's black and simple, but a feminine/sexy style that still makes me feel pretty. The sides are rouched with strings so it really does show the belly curve nicely and will likely grow well with me. The quality is excellent – does NOT fit or feel like a $30 bathing suit at all and I look forward to hitting the neighborhood pool soon.

Oh, and went to the doc today (a couple weeks late due to scheduling) and heard the heartbeat which was very very cool. Also found out I haven't gained a single pound since my last appointment which was late May. That also is very good considering my original weight and how all is progressing. But yeah, clean bill of health!

  1. I am at 15 weeks.

Yep, have found some pretty decent things from Old Navy and Gap – they had some fab clearance sales recently AND some email coupons so I got some goodies. Same with Ann Taylor Loft. However it’s not that great of an idea to purchase things before you really start showing because everything moves and changes. Denim capris I got from The Gap 3 weeks ago that seemed to be a good choice are now incredibly uncomfortable and unflattering. Also the no panel/demi/full panel choice is very personal and you will have no clue what you will like ahead of time. Plus, being petite I find that these waistbands and panels hit at the completely wrong place on my body and often cut into my abdomen.

As for the tankini, I got a Large and it’s seems to be the right size (before I was pregnant I would buy a 12 or 10 suit and D-cup). Yes, it’s boobalicious, but the halter can be tied so you can tighten it. The bottom is a touch large now in the bum and belly, which I figure is good. May not work in October, but I think it will fit through the summer. I feared the XL would be too big and saggy around the ribcage and bum. 🙂

  2. I have been wondering about that swimsuit, and might have to buy it! the comments said it ran a bit small–did you find that to be true? I am finding the in-store target maternity options to be very limited, unless you want to spend your pregnancy in weird capris, so it’s good to know you had a good experience ordering online. I have been reading your blog for a while, and think we are at about the same stage in pregnancy! please continue to share your pregnant lady clothes finds!

  3. haha! I’m so not surprised you have that top. As soon as I saw it I was like “I know that top!!”. ;D I’ve been eyeing it at Target – it’s super cute and looks great on you. And your hair looks FABULOUS today!

  4. So how many weeks along are you? I never counted weeks until I got pregnant, but now that’s how I measure it. If you haven’t already, check out Old Navy maternity online. I was never a huge fan, but they have some really cute things at great prices, especially considering you won’t be wearing them forever. You look great!!

  5. I wish I had pictures of me when I was pregnant to show you. Tent, gross and voluminous spring to mind. Not like you, you look fab!
