My husband is a fitness enthusiast. He loves to hike and bike, run and ruck, camp and climb, hit the gym and stretch on the yoga mat. Me? I'm more of a chill kind of gal who enjoys winter walks around the neighborhood and the occasional Peloton guided workouts in my living room. Whether you're shopping for someone more my speed, or the speed of my partner, this fitness gift guide should have some novel ideas and the items are great for athletes of all ages and levels but especially for us grown-ass folk.

It's not like men and women over 40 can't enjoy the same fitness gear as younger folk, it's just that we're more discerning and we also are often caring more about our joints, our recovery, and our longterm results. This gift guide offers quality items, many that my husband and I personally own and use, or items grown-ass friends of ours recommend.

Let's be honest, if you're looking at a fitness gift guide to shop for another, you're not an expert in the activity, just a fan of the person partaking in it. This gift guide is focusing on items the enthusiast likely doesn't already have but would think is cool, and you don't need to know a lot about their method of activity, level of competence, shoe size, or other personal details. All of the items in this gift guide are highly rated by athletes and enthusiasts and will hopefully be seen as useful, not regiftable.

That being said, if someone is passionate about a sport or activity, sometimes the greatest present is a gift card and being in attendance at their next event. Gift cards for a sports massage or stretch, REI or Bass Pro, or even a Costco membership (great prices on supplements and meal plan-friendly foods) is appreciated and shows you listen and care. The best gift is support and understanding, it can be the best motivation!
