If you follow me on Snapchat, you know I wore this look last Thursday to the Goodwill VIP Popup Trunk Show at the Pepco Edison Gallery.ย What a fun evening!ย I met a few friends for “linner” at Zaytinya beforehand, and saw many more (and a few of you fabulous people!) at the event.ย After I went with my BFF and sister to Proof for a glass of wine before heading home.ย There were racks for each blogger who curated a collection, plus plenty more and upcycled furniture and art by Tim Kime.
I found this dress on Etsy.ย I was looking for tee shirt style dresses, hopefully one that could be off the shoulder and not basic black, grey, or navy.ย This one came up from momandpopcultureshop, and I loved the Gauguin-inspired print and the batwing sleeves.ย The dress is in pristine condition, I wonder if it had ever been worn or even laundered.ย Attending a Goodwill event, I really wanted to wear something thrifted.ย I knew this would be a fun event so I wanted to wear color and something joyful.ย This dress was perfect!ย To amp up the fun factor, I styled it with bright orange suede pumps, a printed clutch (a favorite), and my bamboo name earrings.ย Sometimes a lack of coordination (there isn't even any orange in my dress) pulls everything together!

This pictures shows a bit of the event as well as me and Michsi shopping the collection (photo via Goodwill of Greater Washington).ย There was so much good fashion!ย Vintage, popular designers, handmade oddities, some pieces still with original sale tags still attached!
Here I am with Alison, Sydney, and Rosana outside the event.ย Other than my feet hurting by the end of the night, this was a perfect outfit for the event. Thank you all who attended the event, Goodwill raised a nice amount of money, and I know many of you left with some fabulous fashion scores (I left with this adorable vintage coat which only cost $14!).ย I'm honored to have been part of this great event that supported a great organization that does so much for the DC area!
My friend Carletta shared this very jacket on Twitter the other week, annoyed that the only real leather jacket ASOS offered in plus sizes was covered in embroidered flowers. I didn’t realize when I bought this jacket back in March that it was the only plus size leather offering, I was just in awe of…

I figure since I can’t get you full length photos these days, I can at least get you some shots of me once I get to work (I sneak these photos when my office mate leaves to get coffee or head to the men’s room). The top is this one from Kenneth Cole New York. …

I’ll be sure to share if I am attending something ahead of time on social media (most likely Facebook). Would be great to meet!
Great idea to wear something thrifted to the Goodwill event – these colors look great and the dress seems to have been made for you..
