What I Wore: Chico’s Leopard Print Faux Fur Coat

When I visited Chico's Headquarters earlier this year, I saw this leopard print faux fur coat and haaaad to have it once it was for sale.  Chico's remembered how excited I was about this coat and sent it to me as a gift a couple weeks ago.  While it's lovely for early fall days as a topper for work or play, it also makes for a fab piece to throw on when heading to pick my daughter up from school. Yes, I am that mom at pickup.

The thing is, under the faux fur are a stretchy comfy turtleneck and cropped leggings I wore all day when working in my home office. Under the fedora is hair that needs to be washed. Under the boots are two different socks. And this bag?  it's a new favorite because, like all the Dagne Dover bags I own, the Small Andra Crossbody is smartly designed.  In there is my wallet, my lipstick, my keys, and places to tuck quick-grab items. Unhook the strap and you can tuck it into a larger purse or work tote to keep your purse essentials organized.

It's so tempting to buy items that look practical – solid dark colors, simple silhouettes, things that aren't memorable. But the statement pieces are what steal the spotlight… and sometimes that's exactly what you desire. As someone who works from home, I rely on statement jackets, beautifully colored scarves, and hats to pull myself together when leaving the office to run an errand, grab coffee with a friend, or pick up my daughter from school. Not only do they distract, but they're also a lot more fun to wear!
