Picture 005Picture 006Heading to a Nats game after work so I wanted to look professional for a brown bag, but also comfy for the long day and the casual event. I know the flops are really pushing it, but yesterday was a tough day, a long day and a day in heels. Tomorrow I have my high school reunion which will be another day with heels so I had to do something to let my tootsies rest. I kept saying I would get myself a pair of black patent or leather thongs but never got around to it…

Attire:
Ann Taylor: Teal linen jacket (have been loving it for months and it went down to $29.99 so I got it last night! Love how it swings out so can wear it for a bit even though my belly is growing)
Gap: White ribbed tank, dark The Essential Jeans (held together with hair elastic)
Reef: Black ‘Sandy” flops
H&M: Silver necklaces
Silver hoops and cuff (put on after picture)

Hair:
Next day
Random sections twired around curling iron for short period of time, finger combed

Beauty:
Cover Girl: Smoothers tinted moisturizer in Light/Medium, LashBlast waterproof mascara in Very Black
Philosophy: The Supernatural color correctors in Light
Cargo: Matte BeachBlush in Tenerife
Body Shop: Eye Definer in Slate, Eye Color in Taupe
Revlon: Super Lustrous lip gloss in Pink Afterglow

So this evening is the baseball game, tomorrow is my 15-year high school reunion, Sunday I am going to a friend's house to help her with a wardrobe makeover. This is something I have been toying with doing as a profession for years but have never gotten around to making it legit. So I do it for fun for loved ones! Off to tear her closet apart, tell her what to keep, what to toss, what to donate, what to repair and what can go with what/how to shop from her closet. Then a list of what essentials she should purchase to make her wardrobe a cohesive unit ready for any occasion. I may sound like a freak, but I can't think of anything more fun to do on a Sunday afternoon! 🙂

  1. Love, love, love that jacket. The shape is perfect and the color is just gorgeous, especially with your coloring.

And I just read your entire account of Bonnaroo and am marvelling at your energy & perseverance. The last time I was at a festival, two of my friends ended up in the medic tent for heat exhaustion so I’ve sworn off the outdoor, multi-day concert events for a few years. After reading this, tho, I might have to go back…

  2. I forgot to say that I wear the City Style dress over the Target nursing tanks (highly recommended, too, esp if you are going to be getting fitted for bras after bb comes and you need something to get you through the engorgement, etc.) Otherwise, that’d be, um, a lot of boobage.

  3. Love you in teal. And look at that sweet tummy…it’s so nice to think there’s a bb in there!

OK, I got a darling dress in 3 colors from NY and Co yesterday that would be perfect for the in-between stages of pregnancy. (And, while I’m no longer pregnant, I need to give my little guy access so he can nurse, so you could potentially wear these next summer, if you’re not sick of them by then):

It’s the City Style Dress and it’s on sale for 30% off. I got a coupon in the mail for an ADDITIONAL 30% off (it’s code 9079 if you do it online) so I ended up buying three because I look horrendous in shorts and this is a nice alternative.

OK, enough. I just wanted to pass on something useful…

  4. Those ARE cute! I have seen some cuties from MIA… too bad they (and a lot of other cute brands) run so darn narrow. I swear my feet would be more comfortable in the box a shoe comes in than the actual shoe! 🙂 But I may be heading to the mall tomorrow so I’ll see if I can find something! 🙂

  5. Man, what a great friend you are! I’d pay good money for you to come do that to my closet. She’s a lucky girl! And you’re looking lovely – the teal looks great on you.
