Wow, note to self – do not let your hair air dry sans product and then try to fix it with a flat iron. My hair looks so ragged and sad. I hopped in the shower as soon as I woke, but then went downstairs to let out the dogs and got distracted. Then I came upstairs to the bedroom and saw my adorable sleeping husband and well… got even more distracted. Next thing I knew I was running late and my hair was kinky in one place, curly in another, flat in another.  Did a quick few swipes with my flat ironir?t=whaevewomneei 20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B001LF4I8I, but knew it was too late to fully rescue the ‘do.

I just got this skirt, it was on sale and I have been looking for some new pencil skirts in color and fabrics that can transition into the warmer months. At first I was hesitant to wear it because it's not lined and really show my mama pooch. Then I realized I love the color, I love how it fits, and heck, I have this pooch, I must embrace it like every other curve on this fabulous bod!

I love the mix of colors and how everything in this ensemble is so darn comfortable. Who says you have to wear sweats to be comfy?

  1. Love your comments about your body! I’ve spent 20 years having the “perfect body” and now coming into an age and health status where that isn’t really possible anymore, I have actually dealt with feeling deep SHAME for the ways my body isn’t so “hot” anymore. Just something about the way you described it here really hit me – you do not come across as obnoxious and flaunting yourself (I can never buy that when people do) but just acceptance and love of the body. Thank you!

  2. You look fantastic! I love your use of colour.

I really find your acceptance of your body so inspiring. It has helped me accept my (much worse than yours) belly. I never thought I would come to peace with it and it’s still an uphill battle. But thanks to you, I am concentrating on getting it stronger and not getting it back to it’s pre-pregnancy state.

    Thank you again!

  3. Love the color blocking look! I want to try it out, but have been shy so far. Never heard of this brand of skirt – may have to check them out.

You know, we think all black makes us look thin, but you look so svelte in this combo. It’s very flattering becuase the shapes you’ve used work well on your body. Proof we don’t have to be monochromatic to look slim!

  4. LOVE the skirt and think I’m going to buy it but need your help! I’m a 12A for the Gap perfect trouser, what size skirt should I order from Nordstrom, does it run true to size? I don’t have a store near me so need to rely on your expert opinion! I’m LOVING your recent posts, it’s inspiring me to get out of my BLAND comfort zone and try a skirt for once!! Thanks!!

  6. I really like the color blocking look on you! It reminds me of spring YSL– you’ve inspired me! And that bracelet is a great find 🙂

Oh and btw the peacock umbrella has totally been sitting in my car for a couple of months– someone left it there and I have no clue whose it is! Maybe they’ll see the post and ask for it back lol
