I have often bought presents for friends and family from Soma, and I'm going to share what I think are the best holiday gifts from Soma this season, and which ones are best for the different personas of your loved ones. I hope this will help you narrow down the great gifting options at Soma this holiday season!

Exploring the Soma Gift Guide for 2023

What makes a gift great is understanding the gift recipient. This season, Soma has gifts for a range of personas. The Traditional One, The Playful One, The Nurturing One, The Luxe One, or The Creative One, Soma has you covered with great gifts for each persona. You can find all of these gift guides and more holiday gift ideas at this link. Soma invited me to pick one of these personas to showcase and while many sounded appealing, I felt most like The Creative One.

Shopping for The Creative One This Holiday Season

And I picked right, as the Creative collection is full of bold and colorful prints, pattern mixing, rich colors, and hints of lace that felt fashionable and dramatic, not at all sweet or twee. Even the floral print is called Drama Blooms!

From romantic chemises to cozy sleep tees and pajama pants, elevated satin to Soma's iconic Cool Nights luxe yet breathable fabric, and plenty of coordinating accessories like fuzzy socks and smartly designed sleep masks, this collection has the variety to appeal to most any gift recipient.

Gifts for Relatives

When shopping for your mother-in-law, your cousin, or your niece, a safe bet for a gift is great sleepwear. It's a treat, as we often neglect our sleepwear. Give your loved one a sleepwear glow up and start the new year on the right foot with Soma sleepwear.

Soma sleepwear is available in separates which is great for those of us who are a different size on top than on bottom. You can also then customize a set; a camisole for your sister, pajama shorts for your niece, a short-sleeved sleep tee for your aunt.

Gifts for Friends

Matching pajamas aren't just for families. How fun would it be to have coordinating sleepwear with your besties that you all pull out for next book club, weekend getaway, or celebratory get-together? Who says sleepwear can only be worn to bed; I love the idea of a girlfriends' brunch all wearing coordinating Soma sleepwear!

With sizes XS (0/2) to XXL (20/22) and the ability to shop separates, you can find a custom fit for many. And with such a range of tops and bottoms as well as sleepshirts, robes, and accessories, everyone can be decked out on their terms, embracing their comfort and personal style aesthetic.

Gifts for Partners

Your spouse, your girlfriend, your partner, your special friend… we have many terms for those romantic relationships and Soma has just as many options for gifts.

Get comfy with Soma Cool Nights pajama top and ankle pants with matching fuzzy socks, or romantic with Soma's satin long robe and matching bra and pajama pants. Gift sassy comfort with a Soma lace-trimmed Cool Nights chemise with the matching Cool Nights robe and sleep mask.

Treat Yourself This Holiday Season

Soma's Cool Nights fabric is a lightweight rayon fiber that doesn't cling, and will keep you cool all night. I know I am not the only woman in midlife who deals with hot flashes, sleeping hot, and sometimes waking in the middle of the night in a pool of sweat. Soma Cool Nights sleepwear is a favorite for keeping me cool and comfortable all night long.

Soma's satin sleepwear is so luxe and so chic, I have worn it as streetwear. Pairing the pajama pants with a cashmere sweater, the robe and pants paired with a silky camisole and velvet smoking slippers, it is elevated style and fabric that feels decadent as sleepwear and right at home as apparel.

I like to start the New Year with new intimates. It feels like I'm starting on the right foot with new bras and undies. Check out my review of a Soma bra fitting and my favorite bras; in these photos, I am wearing the Soma Stunning Support Full Coverage Bra. The Embraceable Perfect Coverage Bra is a great-fitting smooth bra that works under a range of clothing and comes in the same Drama Blooms print part of The Creative One gift guide.

I am also a big fan of the Vanishing Edge Modern Brief; clothes slip over them easily, they are high enough to stay in place but not so high they peek out from jeans, and they are wedgie and VPL-proof. They also come in colors that make a beautiful coordinating set with the rest of The Creative One gift guide.

For reference, I am a size 14/16 with a 36 G bust. In the Cool Nights Short Robe, I am wearing L/XL. The Cool Night shorts are XL and honestly, I think L would have been better for me. The Cool Nights Ankle Pants are XL and while they're roomy, I appreciate the extra room for comfort. The Cool Nights Long Sleeve Notch-Collar Pajama Top is also XL. I find it a comfortable fit over my bust without being too baggy elsewhere; the sleeve cuffs are elasticized (but not tight) so they create a lovely blouson effect on my petite frame. The Cool Nights Eyemask is really well designed with a wide back strap that ensures it stays in place while being comfortable and keeping out light.

  1. Iโ€™m glad you have had such good luck with Soma.
A few years ago I went to Soma at the Mall of America.
The reaction and conversation from the sales associate was belittling and tone deaf.
Iโ€™m plus sized looking for bras and was told
โ€œWe wouldnโ€™t carry your sizeโ€ when I said she hadnโ€™t even measured me. Then I asked if she had any suggestions she dismissed me with more rudeness.
Iโ€™m a 44 D not petite but certainly not off the charts.
Iโ€™ve since found Allure Intimate Apparel a lovely shop with professional associates and beautiful size inclusive clothing.
Also they have an incredible return policy,if the lingerie is uncomfortable in any way they will take it back which they will rehome to womenโ€™s shelters

  2. SOMA really has wonderful items! Back when the Pandemic started, I ordered a pair of super-soft black cropped pants, planning to wear them almost daily with a shirt that could look ok on Zoom. I still have those pants & have washed & dried them so many times. They are actually my favorite sleep pants now. And the Vanishing Edge underwear are the only ones I buy. Your pajamas in this post are lovely! So glad SOMA came back to you.

  3. Oh my, You look incredible! And who ever was taking the pictures also took your best looks. Thanks for this post – I’m totally over to Soma.
