Tuesday

Sleepy, beachy day. Pictures taken an hour after lunch and several hours into a grueling work day.

Cream cable-knit hooded jacket cardigan from Express. Brown ribbed tank from Old Navy. Dark denim pencil skirt from Gap. Brown peep toes with wood heels from Maripe. Long glass and wood bead necklace from Claire's, looped twice.

Hair is washed, conditioned, blown dry while reading Lucky, using a bit of a paddle brush, but mostly the hands. Blew the bangs straight with a round brush. Headed out the door.

As for makeup, it's L'oreal True Match foundation, Body Shop stick concealer, Chanel pressed powder, a touch of Physician's Formula bronzer, a touch of Nars Orgasm blush. Eyes is the Revlon ColorStay shadow quad in neutral – khaki on lid and below lash line, olive in crease and along lash line, ivory in corners and along brow bone. L'Oreal Voluminous mascara in black, and lip stuff not reapplied since I left my house at 7am. So those are nude lips, often licked and chewed on while stressing out at the computer monitor. Ta-dah.

I don’t think hose really makes the legs all the mor warm. And you know what? Nicole Kidman doesn’t hide her pale skin, I don’t either. Blue veins and all, I go bare legged and I think it’s nice.

This season, there are so many shades of tights out there, and leggings. Brown tights with burgundy mary janes, black tights with red t-strap pumps, heather gray tights with all colors of boots, black leggings and flats…

Usually I spend the winter in pants. makes it easy. Not as exciting, but easy. I lucked out today, it’s 60 degrees in the Nation’s Capital.

Yes or no on the hose issue in winter. I hate hose, they’re evil, and cannot seem to find anything that doesn’t make my pasty white winter skin look like a bad fake spray tan.
But no hose in winter? In Michigan?? Can’t wear black tights and boots all the time.
    What are others doing??
