I always love the mix of high-end with street, fancy with casual, tough with feminine. While this skirt could easily be paired with something delicate and fancy for a formal occasion, wearing it with a heather gray tee shirt is more my style.

I'm keeping with the tough and soft vibe by mixing pearls with this heather gray vintage v-neck. You can't see the shoes well, but they are a platform and kind of chunky and tough.

Speaking of this Old Navy Vintage v-neck tee, I love it so much I went back and bought this old Navy tee in white, a dark pink, and classic heather gray!

Started the day with yoga. Teal scoop-necked tee from Gap, black jersey harum pants from C.enne.V. Hair was second day, brushed out. No makeup. No face picture either, sort of pointless if i didn’t do my makeup or hair! After yoga, I dashed to the grocery for some necessities, then puttered around the house getting…

  1. I also love the tough/feminine, fancy/casual, leather/lace looks! Well-done! This is now one of my favorites.

  3. I can see why that would work better for you – I have no chest to speak of, so untucked shirts lay pretty good on me.

  4. Allie,

The gorgeous Karen Kane maxi dress you wore the other day is now on sale and your WARDROBEOXYGEN30 discount code still works. That brings the dress down to $59.15 before taxes and shipping. Not bad for a dress that started at over $100. It’s almost what I can manage and I might just go ahead…

  6. I love this look and you have inspired me so much.  For my little boy’s birthday on Sunday, I finally got up the nerve to wear a very frilly hi-lo skirt, paired with a black tee and red espadrilles, thanks to your Kitchen Sink post.  I first tried the skirt with a striped shirt, and then got the idea for a black tee. You are helping me to improve my wardrobe by using what I’ve got on hand, and I really appreciate it!  🙂

  8. I like that they are thinner because they can be worn untucked and scrunch nicely. Usually an untucked shirt looks like a tent on me. I also know that I can un-knot this shirt, wash it and it will go back to its original shape! 🙂

  9. Love this look! I love the Old Navy shirts, too – I bought two of them and may have to go back for more. They’re thinner than I usually go for, so I wouldn’t wear them with a structured skirt, but they’re perfect with jeans/shorts/floaty skirts.

    1. Those Old Navy tees really are the best, aren’t they? I’m keeping an eye for them to go back on sale again so I can pick up a few more colors. They’ve got some really cute cardigans again for fall that would mix nicely (for those of us for whom the t-shirt/blouse/cardigan look is an informal uniform.)
