Tuesday I wore ivory wool flannel trousers from Talbots, my black tank from Banana Republic, and my block ruffled-trim cardigan from Caslon.  I wore a chunky short pearl necklace I bought at Ross back in college.  Black city boots.

Wednesday, I wore my black trousers from semantiks, my teal shawl-collar merino sweater from Banana Republic, a black demi-cami from Second Base and my black city boots.

And here is today:

Yet again Cindy wants to get into the photo action!
I am wearing my black merino crewneck from Banana Republic, black pencil skirt from Ann Taylor, gray print scarf from a boutique in Rehoboth Beach, DE; dark gray Tight End Tights from Spanx and black “Maryland” tall boots from Ros Homerson.  Silver hoops and cuff for accent.
My makeup is pretty basic – Stila Illuminating tinted moisturizer, Laura Mercier Secret Camoflauge and Bronzer, Tarte shadow in Sweet Valley High, Body Shop shadow in Soft Black, DiorShow mascara and Sephora lip gloss in Bronzed Beauty.
It has been a VERY busy week at work, but I have been good at bringing my own lunch and eating breakfast – saves dollars AND calories!

  1. Spanx tights are so awesome – I just got my first pair this year, and I’m amazed at how tough they are. So far I haven’t come close to snagging them (knock on wood.)

You look absolutely fantastic in dresses – so slender!

  2. You look fabulous! This is one of my favourite outfits on you. Very chic. Love the scarf and you are looking very skinny. You always give me ideas for work wear.

  3. This is a wonderful outfit! I’ve always wanted a pashmina but find it’s a little out of my price range. :0[ Hope your weeks get a little less busy soon!

  4. Thank you!

The scarf is one like a pashmina or shawl. I have it gathered lengthwise and wrap it around my neck, and then tie the ends in front just once – a loose single tie (not knot). Pretty basic but I think it’s a cool result. 🙂

  5. oooh I love this outfit! the gray tights were the perfect choice, and keeping the rest of the ensemble black let that glorious scarf shine!

and your doggie is adorable 😉

  6. OMG, best purchase I have ever made. I bought the Flawless Face Kit first, a way to introduce myself to the line. Then I bought the Secret Camoflauge individually. Tons of product for the price, two colors, one darker which I blend with the light for around the nose and mouth, and mainly the light alone around the eyes. I put it on after the foundation or tinted moisturizer so it blends better, and i use my ring finger. I don’t use powder because then it looks really obviously made up. And lately I am using lots of illumination (bronzer and tinted moisturizer) which makes things look more dewy, more natural and hopefully makes me look less tired. 🙂

  7. Your foundation/concealer looks amazing in the photo, good coverage but so natural! I’ve never used Laura Mercier but maybe it’s time I give it a shot…

  8. Gorgeous! The scarf is fantastic, lady. And good to know about the Spanx tights … I realized that I have a rainbow of tights and zero good black pairs!

  9. I LOVE Spanx tights. My black Tight End Tights are a bit heavier than these gray ones, have a gusseted crotch and go all the way up to my bra with a really strong control top (like spanx). These are a bit thinner, more like heavy-dty control top, regular crotch and not quite as high rise.

But these are tights that can survive the washing machine, falling down on concrete, scraping against a brick wall, and more than one year returning to original shape and looking fresh. I now only purchase Spanx tights because the waist is high so it doesn’t cut me in the center, and I know that they will last me multiple seasons.

  10. lookin good in this outfit! 🙂 Like it a lot!

question- about the spanx tights- I almost bought a pair the other day- but they are spendy- are they really good quality? and are they warm?

I may get some of the assets hose to try out from target for the spring months when tights aren’t really in season anymore but it’s too chilly to go without.

Would love your feedback on the spanx stuff!
