If you get my monthly Style File newsletter, you know I recently found this dress on Amazon. I love dresses like this in the summer, they don't cling and you feel like you're wearing a nightgown yet look pulled together. Last time I wore this dress I paired it with these wedge sandals from Aerosoles, but this day I was in the mood for a flat shoe. I love these sandals from Yellow Box, they're cushy and comfortable but embellished enough to pair nicely with a festive maxi dress but I've also paired with distressed denim and cotton sundresses.

  1. Lovely cut and colour! Do you not find maxi dresses feel too formal for daytime though? I really want to embrace the maxi trend but I always fear it’s just TOO MUCH colour or print in one place for me to be able to pull it off…

    1. I would never wear this to work, I find most maxi dresses to be too formal and too… festive for the office. But I would totally wear this to a daytime party, toning it down with my choice of accessories. However, I’ve worn a floral print silk maxi to work and a solid black matte jersey maxi to work toned town with tan or brown leather shoes and subtle accessories and makeup. But it’s a case by case/dress by dress basis for me.

  2. Channeling your Greek goddess, eh? Beautiful color and great sleeves to accentuate and flatter your arms.

  3. This color loves you! I really enjoyed reading all the responses to your blog post yesterday. It’s like all the mama bears come out to defend you (even after you did a brilliant job on your own). We really don’t like rude people.

    1. I know I need to go back and thank everyone, it was so overwhelming and sweet! It wasn’t as much about that specific woman but how bloggers get so much flack for monetizing their blogs. We women (and I stress women as I don’t think if it were male bloggers and readers this would even be an issue) should be compensated for work. She sent that email and it was the straw that broke this camel’s back on the topic.

  4. Can I ask if you ordered based on your bra band size measurement or your “fullest part of your bust” measurement?

    1. I didn’t, I went based on how I normally order a large in dresses and based on the reviews I went down to a medium. The fabric is stretchy so I didn’t worry too much about the bust situation, and considering I am pretty busty (DDD/F) the top wasn’t too tight, yet I think would still be fine with a smaller chest.

  5. I went to Amazon to look into this dress as well. The back has a v cut too…..how does a regular bra work with that Alli?

  6. That dress is so incredibly beautiful and flattering! Do you mind if I ask what size you are wearing? I went to Amazon to get one, and the reviews tend toward “runs large”. I’m similar to your shape and size, so I’d love some guidance.

  7. This dress looks so gorgeous on you! I can’t remember the last time I wore a maxi dress because I’m afraid of “tent look” but I might have to reconsider… — thanks for sharing!
