Blouse: Topshop | Pants: Bought at a Street Festival | Flats: MIA | Bracelets: Had Forever, c/o Lifetherapy | Earrings: Argento Vivo When it’s hot and humid, the last thing I want to wear is something structured and form-fitting. I bought this top at Nordstrom and it’s very outside my usual style, but I am…
Jacket – Caslon (similar)Tee – LOFT (similar)Pants – Ann Taylor (similar)Pumps – MICHAEL Michael Kors “Flex”Bracelet – c/o t+j Designs, Nordstrom (this and this), c/o Soft SurroundingsBag – Brahmin (similar) I planned to stick to a simple color palette of black, white, and red but then remembered I had a few things to take into…
Since the beginning of this blog, I have preached the benefit of having a mini capsule wardrobe of pieces in a seasonless fabric that can dress up or down. A shell, a pair of pants, a dress, a skirt, maybe a blouse… things you can mix and match that travel well. For years I suggested…
Last February, Universal Standard had the coolest promotion called Mystery Boxes. Starting at $50, you’d buy a box of a certain number of pieces of clothing, share some details about your size, personal style, and current wardrobe and Universal Standard would curate a box of fashion for you that was worth way more than the…
Pumpkin merino scoopneck sweater from Marshall’s (’07)(do not recall the brand), dark denim skirt from Gap (’06), tan Bern boots from Duo (’07), silver cuff (’97) and hoops (’07). Though not pictured, most of the day I also wore my avocado pashmina around my neck. Hair was second day, I brushed it out, put some…
Friday I had the day off. As you can see by the picture, my husband was pretty happy about it! This is a super casual outfit – we started the day by having breakfast with my mom (and Emerson of course!). We then ran a couple errands but spent the rest of the day together…
Looking beautiful birthday girl !
Thank you!
I love that when you dress up for an occasion, you do it up! You probably looked like someone famous all ready for a night on the town! A maxi dress always makes for a glam look, but I too would have never considered it for a winter event. But, now that you mention all the layers of warmth you can hide underneath, then absolutely, I’d consider it. Looks like you two had a great romantic weekend. Much love to you both.
Aww thank you Sonia!! Hope you are healing nicely!
I LOVE the stole
Thanks Meghan!
Gorgeous outfit, and your makeup looks extra amazing in these photos.
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous!
Thanks!
Girl that outfit is smokin’ hot. I love that dress. How I missed this website, I do not know. is this a site you recommend?
eShakti? I’ve had mixed experiences with them. I think if I ordered with measurements instead of sizing I’d be happier. I recommend reading the comments in this post as many readers have bought from them and have amazing suggestions: http://www.wardrobeoxygen.com/2016/12/eshakti-review.html
The green stole is a knockout with your dress!
Thank you!

You are a beautiful butterfly, Allie!! What a perfect description!!
It’s funny, because I don’t see as many maxis in the winter, so the 3 of us just did a series on them. It’s nice to see you wear yours too!!

I love maxis in winter, you can hide tall boots, wool socks, longjohns and more!
