If someone were to draw a caricature of me, it very well may be wearing this outfit or a variation of it. Blazer, band tee, jeans, and my Rebecca Minkoff leopard calfhair Mini M.A.C. purse.

This purse wasn't cheap, but it's everything I love. Bold silver hardware, leopard calfhair, black leather… even the feet on the bottom of the bag look like studs. It's a perfect size to hold all I need, and I love that the silver chain strap is long enough to be a crossbody.

I love Jack White (White Stripes), and I love Alison Mosshart (The Kills), so it is no surprise I love their group together – The Dead Weather. I've seen both artists with their other groups (proud to have seen The White Stripes, R.I.P) and got to see The Dead Weather at Rams Head in Baltimore. I didn't buy a t-shirt and really wanted one and was happy to find one on Etsy.

  1. You look great. The older I get, the more I wish I felt like I had a signature style. I so appreciate you showing not-25, not-size-5 women how to look confident, cool and polished. Rock on!

  2. I love the way you wear the band tees If I had to pick an “Alli” look it would be this. I think you look fab.

  3. do you color your hair? it looks so pretty and shiny in these pics! it’s exactly the color i’m always trying to replicate and tend to come up short. if you have details to share, please do!

(though i’m still mad at you for getting me hooked on this dang oribe spray that is going to bankrupt me haha!)

  4. I have had multiple closet personality disorder for YEARS. But I’m learning that it stems from trying to copy the style of others, rather than finding my own style. You’ve inspired me to find what I love to wear -not what others say I should. Hopefully, that will tone down ALL the personalities in my wardrobe.

  5. Two comments, actually: One, I think that is a terrific ensemble, and certainly does feel like it is the quintessence of your style. Two: I am nearly 58 and I still am trying to come up with a consistent style story. I admire you for being past the multiple personality stage. I may never get there!

  6. YOUR GUT IS GROSSING ME OUT. Its clear you aren’t eating Whole 30 any more but eating every thing else in sight. You need a diet.

    1. Well aren’t you a charming little ray of sunshine… for all you know it may be that time of the month, or Allie may have had a big meal before taking the photos, or gee I don’t know MAY BE A REGULAR HUMAN BEING and not a constantly dieting runway model. If you’re just here to troll, you’ve come to the wrong place.

  7. Fun post. I used the link to read your multiple closet personalities post and loved all the looks for different moods. Really loved the Rocker Mama, even though that’s furthest from my own personal style…
