This fall I am loving all shades of red, especially the wine red colors seen at practically at every retailer.  I saw this asymmetrical hem cashmere sweater at Chico's and knew it would be a perfect wardrobe addition for fall and winter.

For this look, I styled the sweater with the brand's faux-leather pants.  A lot of faux leather pants leave a lot to be desired.  Too tight, too rubbery, too fake, too uncomfortable.  These look like real leather, have a side zipper and button and are fully lined. I'll admit they were a bit warm this day but come late fall and winter, these pants will be a favorite for keeping me cozy, fighting the wind, and looking chic.  These pants would look great with a chambray shirt, black turtleneck sweater, a silk blouse, a t-shirt and a blazer or denim jacket. They're easy to glam up with a pair of heels.

The sweater is also a piece that is so versatile.  Throw on with your favorite skinny jeans and booties, ponte leggings and tall boots, or style with velvet or beaded trousers for a holiday party.  For both pieces I recommend if in doubt, size down. With such rich fabrics, there's no need for a ton of accessories; I felt this bag was just the little pop that was needed!

How about a navy turtleneck sweater with the merlot pants? I like that color combination and I can’t wear black.

  4. What a fabulous outfit, Alison. I’m not usually a huge fan of monochromatic (only because my mom overdoes it and I rebel against her…LOL), but I think the different textures in this outfit really calls to me. Besides the fact, I adore the asymmetrical detail of almost anything!!
