Lady Cardigans are the perfect hybrid topper for the season
Wardrobe Oxygen community member Catherine reached out looking for lady cardigans. One half lady jacket (think like a classic Chanel jacket) and one half classic cardigan, these toppers are refined enough to replace a blazer in many workplaces, but also be a great alternative to a cardigan or denim jacket for weekends and everyday.

Top row, left to right: one (XS-XL) | two (XXS-XXL & petite/tall) | three (0-20/22) | four (XXS-XXL & petite)
Bottom row, left to right: one (XS-XXL) | two (10/12-26/28) | three (0-20/22) | four (XXS-3X & petite)
The lady cardigan is a trend, but it's not so trendy that you can't continue to wear it even if the concept isn't as popular in major retailers. Like the classic Chanel jacket that inspired it, the lady cardigan is trend resistant and depending on how it's styled, works with a range of personal style aesthetics.

What makes a lady cardigan different from a classic cardigan is that it is heavier in weight, it has more substantial of buttons and trim/placket, and regularly has small buttoned pockets at the waist and/or the chest. This is why you can also find lady cardigans called pocket cardigans. The buttons are often gold and decorative; sometimes the buttons will be pave or have crystals on them.

Sometimes mixed media, you can also find lady cardigans with the front or bodice made of tweed, boucle, or a non-knit fabric. These are occasionally also called structured cardigans or cardigan jackets since they are a hybrid of the two garments.
