Last month when I went to Florida with Chico's to celebrate the company's 35th anniversary, I had the opportunity to visit their very first store on Sanibel Island. While at the store, Chico's provided me with a gift card to go shopping. The store is so cool; it's two stories and still has some of the details and decor from the original 800SF shop. I immediately picked up this leopard print blouse; it was something I had noticed on their website and was hoping it would look good on me. Instant love!

When shopping at the first Chico's store, I also got this dress (which hasn't yet been on the blog but I've worn a few times, I like it with a few of the buttons unbuttoned), and this belt (heads up if you get the belt size down, I got a small). I'm loving so much of Chico's fall collection, I'm giving you a heads up you'll see more of the brand in the next few weeks because I'm wearing so much of it IRL.

I wore this look last Thursday when I attended an influencer event at a local hotel.  The day was hot and humid, but I knew it would be very chilly in the hotel.  This blouse has been great in the heat because it's soft and lightweight, doesn't show sweat and doesn't cling.  These pants were a gift from WHBM several months ago and they're a favorite.  They wash up great, have a nice clean silhouette, and hold up beautifully on long and hot days.

After the event, Karl and I ran errands around town and then took some photos for the blog.  I didn't plan on doing an outfit shoot, but so many of you DMed me seeing my Instagram Stories asking for more info about this blouse and my lipstick.  Honestly, I hadn't looked at my reflection since about 10am that day and it was now 2pm.  It got windy, was still hot and so muggy.  Did I mention I had PMS?  I was over the shoot after a handful of photos and we headed back to the car and air conditioning.  I never got a chance to look at the images until yesterday when I wrote this post.

These are the only photos I saved from the shoot.  I looked a mess.  In most photos, my eyes were closed, or I was squinting or frowning. My hair was terrible, and my bangs (I'm trying to grow them out) were sticking straight out to the side above my ear, and in some photos I had one scraggly piece of hair over my forehead like a combover. But you know what looked great in every photo?  My clothes.  It really is a testament to how great these pieces are. Don't be surprised to see both pieces again on the blog and Instagram!

  1. Chico’s is hit or miss for me. When they first started, they were a little too boho/ethnic for my taste. I do like their white shirts/tunics and leggings. This look is great for you.

Take care with this coming storm. I fear it’s going to glance you.
