What a yucky morning here in the DC area – rainy, cold, dreary.  My hair is not a happy camper today, it desperately wants to part in the middle, feather, and frizz.

I was originally wearing my Cole Haan bootiesir?t=whaevewomneei 20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B0039MITZY but as I walked out my front gate, my heel cap popped off.  I rushed inside to find an alternative – my Miss Sixty booties made this outfit look a bit too Real Housewives, I didn't want to wear the same pumps from yesterday, so I decided to try the leopard pumps.  Think it's a fun pop of color with this ensemble!

I am SO excited for tomorrow – having a Girls' Night Out of dinner and a show with some of the most awesome women I know.  We're going to see Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears at the Black Cat.  DC folks, if you're going to this show, let me know and maybe we can meet up!

  1. I think you should – as long as it’s not too volumnous, it should work on you – and it would show people how to do a maxi if you’re petite.

  2. Too funny, someone asked me this yesterday too! I actually can’t wear any hosiery with pumps because I walk right out/slip in the shoes. What I do is put a pair of Footpetals in each pair. These give my feet grip so they don’t slide, add cushioning, and help with sweat too. 🙂

  3. In that first pic, I thought it was a maxi skirt you were wearing instead of trousers – and I really liked it! (I like the actual outfit too, was just surprised and delighted by the idea of a maxi on you)

Love the leopard with the black and blue!

  4. You know, I went back and looked and it does look like you’re wearing a maxi skirt in the first pic, and it looks fabulous. Therefore, I think you should purchase one.

  5. I do love maxi dresses… I may have to put a maxi skirt on my list. It’s funny, I usually think of maxis as not work-appropriate but then I wear short skirts. I need to change my thinking with the new crop of maxis out this spring.

I will soon be doing a review of a company that has nude fishnets and other fabulous hosiery. Should be next week!

  8. Well played Allie. Well played indeed. Love the leopard pumps. I almost did the same thing myself today. I read on a blog yesterday that leopard shoes don’t go with anything, therefore they go with everything. I’m swallowing that kool-aid.

Northeast Chic, I’m the one who asked that question of Allie yesterday. For pants, I have a cute pair of knee highs (I know, right?) that are actually nude fishnet. Surprisingly, they keep my feet and ankles warm (I’m wearing them today and it was snowing when I left for work), are nude enough so it looks like you’re wearing nothing, and if it does look like you’re wearing something, it’s fun because it’s fishnet. I think I got them at a department store many years ago, but you could probably get them online (We Love Colors maybe?).

  13. You look fantastic! My eyes were immediately drawn to the shoes!!!

I can never wear belts the awesome way you do. I would ask to meet you if I ever get to DC, but then I would be afraid I wouldn’t be dressed well enough!!

  14. You look fantastic! You can never go wrong with leopard print and I love the blue blouse! I’m wearing bright blue tights today. Great minds. 🙂

  16. Okay, question….tell me how to wear pumps in regard to socks etc…do you just go with bare feet? Do you wear trouser socks? My feet feel icky with nothing on them. I can sport them with skirts and tights, but I’m at a loss with pants. Help ?!
