I've found your perfect travel style dress and it's from NY Collection at Macy's. Seriously, this dress is perfection. On top of it, the dress, along with many pieces from NY Collection comes in petite plus sizes.  Considering the average American woman is 5'4″ and a size 16, I don't know why more brands don't offer petite plus sizing.  I'm glad NY Collection does, and has such versatile pieces like this matte jersey utility shirt dress at Macy's!

This dress is that fantastic wrinkle-free machine washable fabric that is perfect for your travel style. It has a drawstring waist, but it's subtle enough that you can change up the look by covering it with a belt.  For sightseeing, I covered it with this belt bag which is the perfect size to hold my phone, wallet essentials, lip balm, and my sunglasses.

Yes folks, the belt bag (FKA fanny pack) is back, and it's utterly brilliant for summer travel!  I love how camel accessorizes summerize black clothing and create a luxe effect.

This dress however, also looks great styled over a pair of leggings. You can also wear it a bit more open or completely unbuttoned and style more like a jacket.  There's tabs for rolling up the sleeves, but the dress also looks great with the sleeves down and buttoned closed.  Wear it with the sleeves down, a statement necklace, and black wedge pumps or flats for dinner.  This is a multi-season dress that can live many lives and create multiple outfits on your vacation while taking up hardly any space in your suitcase.

NY Collection comes in regular, petite, plus, and petite plus sizes. For those of you who are petite like me, NY Collection is great because their Petite Plus collection is tailored for the petite customer. The line fits and hits at the right place on our body, especially in regard to the wrist and ankle. I'm always happy to share brands like this that offer wearable fashion in such an extensive size range.

  1. Totally agree with everyone else. You are such a great model, and you bring clothes alive. That, combined with your honest assessment of what clothes are worth it, make this site such a resource.

  2. You look fabulous. I just wish the dress came in my size. I can’t complain; too often my plus size relatives have few choices.

  3. I agree with BA above–the picture of you in this dress is SO much better than the Macy’s picture. Honestly, I’d look right over that dress if i only saw it on-line. You look great!

      1. thank you! That’s the goal with infuencers. I’ll admit I was skeptical when I ordered based off the photo and description but now I’m a fan of this brand!

  4. So this is the second time (the first being the camel colored coat) that an item from Macy’s looks SO much better on you than the picture on their website. They should seriously use your pictures (compensating you for them, of course). The website also doesn’t show this in black?

  5. Great look – very polished and not complicated. I have no idea what you have on your face (make up) but your skin looks healthy and flawless!

    1. Thanks Lorena! I’ve been using Cicapair from Dr. Jart in place of foundation and it has transformed my skin. For this post I did add a bit of concealer and DiorSkin Airflash mascara but not a lot.

      1. Love Cicapair! I got it based on your recommendation and it’s likewise been amazing for my skin where I need less makeup now and it covers the redness and dark circles I get without looking fake. Love the apf too. Just wanted to say thanks!
