The Best Soma Bras for Us Grown Women

We are not all built the same, so I will share not only my favorite Soma bras but the top selling ones in the Wardrobe Oxygen community:

Wire-Free Bras

I think wireless bras is where Soma really excels.

• Soma Enbliss: Month after month, year after year, the Soma Enbliss bra is a top seller. Many of you appreciate that it offers shape and support without any wires or binding, while looking so smooth under clothes many of you use it like a cami and finding it disappears under slimmer-strap sundresses. This is a better bra for those who are a C, maybe a firmer D, and smaller. This is the classic style, but there is a whole collection of different style Enbliss bras.
• Embraceable Wireless Unlined Full Coverage: A personal favorite for years, this offers shape, lift, and separation even for us larger busted folks who have been blessed by gravity. All that and its lightweight, comfortable enough to be a sleep bra, and doesn't look like something that would be owned by your grandmother.

Everyday and T-Shirt Bras

Soma makes some great daily bras that will not compete with your outfit. Some of my favorites and bestsellers:

• Stunning Push Up Plunge Bra: This names makes you think you're getting some Frederick's of Hollywood sort of contraption. And while it is a good-looking bra, it's also a functional bra for most everyday. Good back coverage so no lumps, closer-set straps so less likely to have them slide off shoulders, and a neckline that works with v-necks and scops, this bra offers good lift and shape without a lot of hardware.
• Stunning Balconette Bra: As someone who is petite and short waisted, bras are sometimes too… tall and dig into my underarms and gape at the top of the cup. This one fits great and gives me a bombshell shape while disappearing under tanks and tees.
• Unbelievable Lift Scoop Balconette: If you like an unlined bra and a high center gore, this is a great option. It is designed to offer good lift and support without a lot of weight, seams, or layers.
• Embraceable Perfect Coverage Bra: The name says it all; it offers perfect coverage and is comfy like an embrace. This is a top seller for an everyday bra and good for a range of bust sizes.

Strapless Bras

Soma makes well-designed bras, and it shows in its collection of supportive strapless bras that don't slide down mid-wedding reception or cocktail party. My picks:

• Soma Enbliss Wireless Strapless Bra: Say wha? A wire-free strapless bra? Yes, and it actually works, offering nice support and shape. My B-cup over-50 friend and my teen both swear by it and it's a top seller here at the Wardrobe Oxygen community. However, like other Enbliss bras, it's best for average to smaller busts or those like my daughter who have yet to be blessed by gravity.
• Stunning Strapless Bra: I have relied on this bra to hold my ladies high, give great shape, and not shimmy down no matter how much I shimmy on a dance floor. It's pretty heavy duty hardware, but surprisingly comfortable and reliable for those outfits that need such support.
• Bodify Strapless Bra: If you are looking for a bra that will go from halter to strapless to one shoulder to whatever your neckline requires, this is it along with a smooth finish that will disappear under lightweight knits.

Special Bras

Whether they're special because they have a certain function, or are special because they make you feel that way, these are some of my favorites and favorites of readers like you:

• Sensuous Lace Unlined Bra: When you have a larger bust, it can be a challenge to find beautiful bras that actually offer lift and shape. This one does just that. It's beautiful, comfortable, and functional even for my F/G bust. And BTW there's a matching hipster and brief with a “vanishing” back that will disappear under knits and fitted pants.
• Sensuous Sides 3-inch Minimizer Bra: Like wire-free bras, minimizers can often look frumpy and be lumpy under knits. Not this one; it's sleek and truly does minimize comfortably.
• Vanishing Lightly Lined Perfect Coverage Front Close Bra: If you are petite or deal with straps being too wide, if you prefer or need a front-close bra, this is a great option. Do know front-close bras often run smaller than standard, so make sure you're measured and consider going up one band size since there is no adjustment hooks.

My Picks for Soma Underwear

If you opened my intimates drawer, you would see a lot of Soma, especially when it comes to underwear. As a short-waisted woman with soft curves, I am a big fan of the Modern Brief silhouette, which isn't so high it peeks out of my waistband, but stays up over my belly. I know everyone is different; Soma has hipsters, bikinis, boyshorts, high-waist briefs, high-leg briefs, and more.

• The Travelers Modern Brief is not only a Wardrobe Oxygen bestseller, but a Soma bestseller, too. Lightweight, quick drying, comfortable, stays in place, this is a great everyday pair and they now come in a broader range of colors.

The Vanishing collection not only disappears under clothes, but it doesn't ride or shift, staying in place and staying comfortable all day. Wash on gentle, line dry, and these hold up well for a good amount of time. Again, they come in a range of silhouettes but I am a fan of the Modern Brief silhouette.

• There is a Vanishing Tummy Modern Brief which is a bestseller in the Wardrobe Oxygen community. Just a hint of compression while still looking good and disappearing under knits, many love this as their everyday undies.
• The Vanishing Edge Modern Brief is my go-to for white pants, linen, fitted knits, dress pants, anything when I don't want VPL, any visible seams, and underwear that won't move but be so comfortable I don't even think about them. It comes in dozens of colors and prints including several different skintones and patterns and shades to create a matched set with many of the bras.
• The Vanishing Edge also comes in cotton. This isn't quite as vanishing (some of the front seams are a bit thicker since it's thicker fabric), but it keeps away VPL, is more comfortable in the heat and I find just as durable if you wash gentle and line dry.

My Favorite Soma Sleepwear

Soma is known for Cool Nights, a line of sleepwear made with a soft, silky knit that feels cool and remains feeling cool all night. I do love it, especially in the summer.

However, what I love from Soma is the satin pajama collection, especially this time of year. Because it's fun to get some elegant, sexy, and dramatic sleep and loungewear every so often (especially when it's machine washable). I mean, this robe? Come on, it's gorgeous, and will even make an old favorite black tank and lounge pants look luxe. And this and this in the Florence Floral? If you feel better with some support, add this in teal but this set is begging to be sitting in front of a window sipping a steaming mug or lounging on a sofa.

Last year, I got my daughter and myself matching plush robes. They have been washed and dried multiple times and still look great. I love the new cableknit version of the plush robe; if we didn't have the ones we did I'd get them (they'd be a great gift).
