Another gorgeous day in our Nation’s Capital! Wearing short sleeves and almost didn’t need a coat! Black tape-yarn empire-waist sweater tee from Old Navy, Curvy denim trousers from Gap (new from holiday gift card), black city boots from Impo, two silver necklaces from H&M (one knotted at back of neck to adjust length), silver hoops…
I’ve been blogging for close to two decades and for most of this time I’ve been recommending Talbots. The Talbots Spring 2018 plus size collection embodies what I love so much about this fashion retailer. Elegance, style, versatility, classic timeless pieces, and amazing fit even for those of us who are petite and plus size…
Another business trip, another time traveling when sick. Caught some kind of stomach virus over the Thanksgiving weekend and I was feeling miserable. Raspberry merino v-neck from Ann Taylor Loft, my turquoise pashmina, straight bootcut jeans from Gap, black city boots from Enzo, silver dangle earrings from Nordstrom and silver cuff bracelet. Hair is washed,…

When I was in high school, I had a friend named PJ. PJ moved to the area in the middle of high school and brought with him a whole new world of music, literature, and art. Before I met PJ, my music knowledge and experience was pretty limited; whatever played on the Top 40 stations…
Dresses rock for many reasons: One-stop Dressing. No need to worry about your top matching your bottom, if your heel height goes with your hemline, and if you need a belt. Throw on a dress and you are good to go. Comfort. Depending on the style, it’s easier to sit on one foot in your…
Have you ordered anything else from Lands End Canvas? I am wanting to order a dress from there, but am a bit worried about the sizing. Lands End stuff can be really big! If you have, is it similar?
This is the scarf:

It is 27″ square. I fold it on the angle – one point to center, opposite point to center, fold again (like you do when you make a square scarf a headband). End up with a 3″ wide band. Tie a single knot in the center of the strip, then two on either side. The tips/ends I tie a very tiny knot at the tips just to close the loop.
OK, Allie, I don’t understand the 3 knot scarf trick…..it’s cute as hell, but what size was the scarf and where did you place the knots??? Sorry, but I need more visual help. Thanks! Glad to have you back, BTW. Missed you while you were “on sabbatical”.
I love your scarf idea! that is so cute! And you look so great today!
Cute idea for the scarf – I’ll have to try that out! Love the heels!
