I was recently interviewed for Washington Life magazine and they asked me to style an outfit with a few fall trends they featured in their November issue. Peplum, leather accents, ankle booties, black with white, studs, metallic brocade, military inspiration… that sort of thing. I was a bit lost at first since I do incorporate…

Can you believe fall is almost here? While I’m still wearing my shorts and sundresses, I know I need to start thinking about my fall wardrobe. Another very cold day in the Nation’s Capital! I did prepare my house with having the curtains closed all day, draft dodgers under the outside doors and doors closed to rooms we don’t use. I think this weekend I’ll go buy some of that plastic to shrink wrap around the windows – I did that…
Have you ordered anything else from Lands End Canvas? I am wanting to order a dress from there, but am a bit worried about the sizing. Lands End stuff can be really big! If you have, is it similar?
This is the scarf:

It is 27″ square. I fold it on the angle – one point to center, opposite point to center, fold again (like you do when you make a square scarf a headband). End up with a 3″ wide band. Tie a single knot in the center of the strip, then two on either side. The tips/ends I tie a very tiny knot at the tips just to close the loop.
OK, Allie, I don’t understand the 3 knot scarf trick…..it’s cute as hell, but what size was the scarf and where did you place the knots??? Sorry, but I need more visual help. Thanks! Glad to have you back, BTW. Missed you while you were “on sabbatical”.
I love your scarf idea! that is so cute! And you look so great today!
Cute idea for the scarf – I’ll have to try that out! Love the heels!
