Today is a big day at work – we have a lunch for a new coworker and to finally celebrate my joining the company, and this afternoon we have a cocktail reception to welcome the new Director for our entire office. I wanted to ensure I gave the very best impression, I think the lace of my gloves matching the lace of my socks will really do it!

I miss the blouse – sold it a couple years ago – would be great now with a brightly-colored pencil skirt!

Wow, you are brave to mix those prints! I adore the skirt.

I was terrified to say anything. The first thing I saw was the glasses and thought “they look great” (they do)… then noticed the rest of the outfit and started feeling very anxious for you… Thank goodness you have not really gone mad!!!

I have read your blog for a long time (and am on French Chic) but I don’t think I’ve ever posted a comment. I must admit I didn’t catch that it was an April Fool’s joke at first. I do rather like the skirt but the rest of the outfit? I thought, yeah, she’ll be making quite an impression.

    Thanks for the chuckle.

It was the bobby socks that did it for me – I thought you’d lost it! Patricia (long-time reader, first-time commenter)

OMG – you totally freaked me out. I started at the pictures for like 5 minutes in disbelief. I think the its the gloves that finally made something click in my head.

Lol, Thanks for the laugh, totally made my morning.

I love it! I wish I worked in an office where people dressed up every once in awhile! I’m always the most glamorous one in, like, trousers and a blazer. Gah.
