Dress: Lexington Long Dress c/o emploi New York | Bracelet: CC Skye via MYHABIT | Bag: Limited Edition Clutch-Wallet c/o Dagne Dover | Shoes: Nine West ‘Flax' | Lipstick: Revlon ‘Really Red'

If you recall, I partnered with emploi New York in the past with an uber flattering jersey dress; well this dress is from their latest collection.  In a color that is surprisingly flattering on my winter fair skin and a ponte fabric that is comfortable and warmer than many knits, this is a great “desk to drinks” dress that could easily dress up for the holiday season.  Being 5'3″ I immediately felt I had to take this dress (and most clothes I buy) to the tailor to shorten the hem, but I decided to leave it as-is for variety in my closet and a more winter-friendly length.  When it gets colder I will be wearing it with tights and tall boots to the office.  I love how emploi creates truly wearable clothing for the professional woman; fashion that is on trend but still appropriate for the boardroom.

Well emploi has expanded to include jewelry! emploi New York has partnered with RAGEN Jewels for a gorgeous jewelry collection. It's an artisanal collection with only a few pieces of each style available. There's statement pieces like the Angel Wing Pave Earrings and then delicate everyday looks like the adorable Wish Bone Necklace.  I can't wait to see what else emploi has in store for the New Year!

Allie, this dress is so pretty on you! I really like that silhouette on you – if it were a little shorter, I’d pick it up for myself in a heartbeat! I’m not sure I can pull off the midi length, but I love how you look in it…like Lissy said, you look so long and lean!

Loved this dress on you and decided to order it myself. Wore it for a children’s holiday country club party. I thought the color might wash out my blonde hair but it looked fabulous on and was so comfortable. I can’t wait to order a few more colors. I’d never heard of emploie ny before but I will be definitely ordering more from them in the future. Thanks for always keeping me chic!

Wow! That dress looks great on you! Proof that us petite girls can wear longer dresses. I don’t know if it’s that the color of the dress and your skin work really well together or if it’s the cut of the dress or what, but you are looking long and lean in that dress. Beautiful!

This is GORGEOUS on you. I wish I had the guts (and skill) to pull this off-but on me, within ten minutes, I’d be covered in coffee, pasta, lipstick, whatever 🙂

LOL I stayed stain free, but am also happy this is the kind of fabric that survives spot cleaning and a Tide to Go stick!

Alison – I would love to buy the “Park” Dress featured on the Emploi Instagram feed but I can’t find it on the site. Do you have a contact at Emploi that I could call or email to figure out how to order? Thanks!

Clicking over to Emploi – I never would have looked at that dress with that model – but it is amazing on you! Gorgeous.

I agree. The dress needs curves to show it off to its best advantage. The model doesn’t do anything for the dress. But on Allie? Transcendent!

I would like to throw my voice into this conversation and wholeheartedly agree! That dress is beautiful on you while it looks downright plain on the model. Now I want one!

What a fabulous dress and the winter white is beautiful with your hair and make-up. A great decision to leave the hem longer as it does make you look taller, something I am always wanting to do at 5’2″”. That dress will be killer with some gorgeous boots too and the best is that is warm and comfortable. Do you do your own make-up? I need some lessons.

Thank you! I do my own makeup, sometimes I luck out, sometimes I look as though my daughter did it for me 🙂

I love the colour and the style but I think I would still shorten it to take it to just under the knee; keeps it long enough for that wintry vibe but think it would hit at a more flattering part of the leg. I like the black and white thing, very classic, but I’d love to see it with colourful accessories too 🙂

I’m with Emily — as the someone who owns a sewing machine, I would have taken it up.
Otherwise it’s a nice looking dress that looks like it’s be at home under a jacket or sweater and not prone to wrinkles. While I may be quick to get my machine out and hem, it doesn’t mean I like to stand around at the ironing board a lot.

I need to agree with going a bit shorter. You still look great, I’m just not a fan of the midi.
