Elm Biosciences Review: Does Martha Stewart’s Skincare Line Live Up to the Hype?
An honest review from the Wardrobe Oxygen community of Martha Stewart’s skincare line, Elm Biosciences
Skincare marketing is relentless, and most of it isn’t written for women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. It’s written to sell you something. I’m here to do the opposite.
Hi, my name is Alison Gary. My skin has changed significantly since my 40s: drier, more reactive, and no longer forgiving of products that are just fine. Figuring out what actually works (and what’s just well-packaged hype) has required a lot of trial, error, and money I wish I’d spent more wisely. So I do the testing so you don’t have to and always share my honest thoughts and experiences.
You’ll find in-depth reviews of skincare brands and formulas I’ve actually used consistently, not one-week impressions, along with my real routines, seasonal adjustments, and honest takes on the tools and tech devices that show up in your social media feed. If something didn’t work for me, I’ll tell you that too, including the negative reviews I didn’t necessarily want to write.
I believe everyone has the right to care for their bodies and face the way they want. I respect all methods of self-care; life is hard enough without judgement. Personally, I haven’t gotten Botox, injectables, or professional treatments since 2019, I haven’t had any procedures, and right now I am at peace with my face. A lot of that has to do with the products and methods I’ve employed to care for my skin, which I share here.
Midlife skin deserves thoughtful, specific advice. That’s what this is. Welcome to Wardrobe Oxygen, I am so glad you’re here!

I once read Bobbi Brown’s interview with Into the Gloss where she mentioned she used a NuFACE device, and I was immediately intrigued. Bobbi Brown is all over social media promoting her beauty line Jones Road, and she looks great – she doesn’t look 25, but she glows and looks healthy and cared for. I…
Many of you have reached out asking if I had tried Trinny London skincare. I haven’t, and I have been dealing with some skincare issues and not in a place to try new products right now. When Trinny London offered to send me some of its skincare, I offered the opportunity to over 40 Wardrobe…
A woman-founded skincare brand I’ve been using since 2016, these are the items from Colleen Rothschild Beauty I swear by for travel.
I know I am not the only one who looks at their reflection a little more in January than any other month of the year. A new year can do that to you. Me maybe more than others as at the beginning of this month, I birthed my daughter, and at the end of the…
I have been a fan of Colleen Rothschild Beauty since 2016, when I first tried the skincare brand’s Radiant Cleansing Balm. Seven years later, the majority of my skincare products are from Colleen Rothschild. As a woman in midlife, I have fewer f*cks to give but still give a shi*t so I want simple yet…
Okay folks, if you’re new here you need to know I am a Colleen Rothschild Beauty megafan. Back in 2016 the brand, as many brands do with bloggers, offered to send me some free product, no strings attached. I agreed, because back in 2016 I said yes to any free product. Little did I know…
As I got older, my skincare routine got more complex. I looked for products to reverse the damage I did from years of tanning beds, no sunscreen, and going to bed with my face still coated in the day’s makeup and mess. But in the past couple of years, I have been looking to pare…
I know I am not the only one who once the temps drop below 40 degrees becomes an itchy, scaly, sensitive mess. I’ve had my skin crack and even bleed in winter, and it seems so many different kinds of fabric will just irritate the heck out of me days after I wore them. But…
