Necklace – yard sale pendant on a chain from an Ann Taylor necklace

Recently Talbots had 50% off three or more accessories, including sale and including shoes. I got these shoes (and another pair I am still deciding on whether to keep) for only $39! What a score!  I know Talbots is having deals today as well – use code FIFTY to get half off a full-priced item and FRIENDS to get 30% off and free shipping on anything else.

Back to the grind, today at work has been pretty busy since everyone is back in the government and the office. While I loved an extra-long weekend, it does feel good to get back into the regular rhythm of work days.

Trench DKNY
Bag – Sabina (similar)

Today in DC is near 70 degrees, but I brought my trench and wore tights because I know that it will get quite chilly when the sun sets (which is before 5pm these days!).

  1. Cute!  I wouldn’t have thought to wear these two colours together at risk of being a bit garish but it actually works really well.  I think the pendant pulls it all together and makes it feel like an outfit as opposed to two separate pieces…

    ps. love the shoes!

  2. Oh you should try it, it’s not that extreme! Start with more subtle colors, say pumpkin with brown or plum with navy. Then work your way up adding shades like teal or mustard. It’s an easy way to wear very simple pieces and make them look far more interesting. 🙂

  3. i love this skirt every time you wear it — i definitely need to check it out!
and this color combo is to die for.
