the best faux leather leggings for women by Wardrobe Oxygen: size-inclusive and most options are under $100

Previously, I shared how to style faux leather leggings, and the obvious question is now who makes the best faux leather leggings? With a fashion trend like this that has been stylish for several years, it makes sense to buy the best quality, fit, and style to ensure they look great this season and for many seasons to come.

Below I share who makes the best faux leather leggings in regular and plus sizes, and those who also offer petite and tall options. These ratings come from customer reviews on the websites of the brands and department stores that sell the product, from personal experience, and from the feedback of you, the Wardrobe Oxygen Community.

Who Makes the Best Faux Leather Leggings?

Below, I share the five brands that make the best faux leather leggings. Three brands offer sizes XS-3X at minimum; one is specifically designed for plus sizes. As always, if you love a great brand not mentioned on Wardrobe Oxygen, please share in the comments!

Spanx faux leather leggings are a perennial favorite and come in sizes XS-3X with petite and tall options.

By far the most popular faux leather leggings, year after year, are from Spanx. They are under $100, come in petite, regular, and tall, and in sizes XS-3X. I find that they run true to size, and, as someone with soft curves and wide calves, I find them quite comfortable and that they will hold their shape all day, even through a cross-country flight. However, I don't think anyone will look at them and believe they are real leather. I don't think that matters, though.

Commando look the most like real leather, but do run a bit small and aren't as stretchy. They too are under $100 and come in sizes XXS-3X with some petite options.

Commando also makes a high-quality, stylish faux leather legging under $100. With fabrication and design, they look more like real leather than Spanx, but because of that, they aren't as good with bounce-back and stretch through the day. However, they run almost a full size small; I wear one size larger with Commando than I do Spanx. Commando faux leather leggings come in a range of colors in sizes XXS-3X, and some sizes are available in petite.

Lysse leggings are high quality, come in sizes XS-3X, and have chic details like strategic seaming and on-trend colors.

I find Lysse faux leather leggings to look the most like real leather, and be of excellent quality. The seaming elongates legs and the fabric really molds to your body for a perfect fit. They are available in a few different colors (and of course black) in sizes XS-XL for $109 and plus sizes 1X-3X in black only, for $119.

The Yummie faux leather legging is a wallet-friendly alternative available in sizes XS-3X

For quality faux leather leggings with a bit of interest, the Yummie faux leather bootcut leggings are highly rated for fabric, quality, and style. They are available in sizes XS-3X for $68.

torrid plus size faux leather leggings
The Torrid Faux Leather Legging gets great reviews and is available in multiple colors in sizes M-6X

Highly rated for working with instead of against curves, the Torrid faux leather leggings are a classic look that appear more expensive than the pricetag (under $50). While Torrid has black, the retailer often carries other fun colors to switch up your look. Available in sizes M/10 through 6X/30.

Other Places to Shop for Faux Leather Leggings

You will find the best range of sizes and colors at the retailers' websites, which I linked to above. However, you can find most of these brands of faux leather leggings at Nordstrom and other popular department stores and online boutiques.

If these brands do not appeal to you, I recommend shopping sites that have a lot of customer reviews. QVC, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale's have plenty of customer reviews to help you pick the best faux leather leggings.

  1. I got a gorgeous maroon pair of Spanx moto faux leather leggings last year, but even going up a full size the waist was so tight it gave me ‘segmented worm syndrome’. I do need the tall option, so I might spring for another pair 2 sizes up and see how that goes. Although the faux leather joggers you have are gorgeous!

  2. My absolutely fabulous hair stylist was rocking some faux leather leggings and a gauzy tunic a few days ago when I went in for service. She looked great! She shared that her leggings were the $40 Assets brand from Target. I immediately ordered some for myself. They fit well and are decent quality. The top band is a Spanx-like fabric vs leather. I’m excited to rock these over the cooler months. And the
Price point doesn’t give me guilt.
