What I Learned from 10 Years as a Blogger & Content Creator
Sharing my experience as a blogger and content creator for a decade and my plans for the future of my influencing business.
Style is what brought a lot of us here. Life is what keeps us coming back.
Wardrobe Oxygen has always been about more than clothes. Since 2005, this space has been where I share what’s on my mind: the things I’m reading, thinking about, and navigating as a woman in midlife. That means perimenopause, aging parents, kids becoming adults, civic life, cultural moments worth paying attention to, and the occasional strong opinion about something that has nothing to do with fashion (though really, fashion is political…).
Every weekend you’ll find my Weekend Reads roundup: a curated mix of articles, essays, and links worth your time. And scattered throughout you’ll find longer personal essays when something is worth saying at length.
This is the less-polished corner of the site. It’s where I write like myself, think out loud, and trust that the women reading this are navigating a lot of the same terrain. Pull up a chair, I’m so glad you’re here!

Many years ago, I won a Keurig coffee machine through a blog giveaway. It was too tall for my counter and I immediately sold it on Craigslist. I saw it as a sign, we didn’t need a coffee machine, we were just fine with our French press. I then had a campaign with Tassimo and…
While I begin Weekend Reads the day after the last one is published, I wait until Friday afternoon to write this blurb at the top. When I started a draft for this post to start dropping articles I found this week, I figured I’d write about the end of a year, the end of a…

The holiday rush is over. The seasonal sponsored posts and gift guides have been published, the gifts have been purchased. My daughter finished her last day of school and doesn’t return until next decade. We have our traditional Christmas Eve and Christmas Day family activities and even booked a little getaway for New Year’s. Other…
This was a week of Adulting with a capital A. If you follow my Instagram Stories you know last week I was struggling with healthcare. Thanks to the Affordable Healthcare Act (AKA Obamacare), since I no longer work for a company, I am able to get my family insurance through Maryland’s healthcare exchange. Last year…
Cyber Week may still be going strong, but I chose to not share sales this weekend (except one exceptional one below in my Weekend Reads) so you could get a palette cleanser. While this is a fabulous season for shopping, there’s more to December than gifts and holiday outfits. And December can be a bit…
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world today, December 3, 2019, and every day. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a…
Weekend Reads are late this weekend because this is no typical weekend! If you’re like me you may not even be sure what day of the week today is! Yet again, we hosted Thanksgiving. This year was a nice-sized group of just nine of our family and like family. We’re eating plant-based, so Karl cooked…
