I have written many times before about my new favorite sweater jacket from M.M.LaFleur but it has yet to make an appearance on me on the blog. It was about time to show it and why I love it so much.
Sweater: Snyder Jacket c/o M.M.LaFleur (L/XL) | Turtleneck: Universal Standard (XS) | Joggers: Spanx (L) | Boots: La Canadienne | Earrings: c/o Rellery | Bracelet: c/o Rellery | Bag: Epic Crossbody c/o Dagne Dover
This is what I wore yesterday. I had voted by mail and received notification that my ballot was received and processed; while I am a poll worker for my county we had so many volunteers this election I was able to bow out until the next election to make room for new recruits to get the hang of it. I chose to take the day off work, but by 10 am was feeling like a slug so I decided to shower and pull myself together with this outfit.
I am so glad I did. This outfit looks more polished than my worn-in sweats but is just as comfy, cozy, and warm on a chilly November day.
As I mentioned in my work from home capsule wardrobe as well as my list of favorite items in my closet, I got this sweater in L/XL but find it runs big. I am usually a size 14 and vary between L and XL for sweaters; I think this would fit up to a 16 quite comfortably.
With it I have a black Universal Standard Foundation turtleneck; I have two of these turtlenecks and just ordered a third because I love them so much. They are soft and silky, slightly ribbed but refined, stretchy yet opaque, warm without being suffocating… a perfect base layer. I have it in a size XS; this turtleneck is two years old, has been in the dryer and still looks great. You can see it also in this post where I used it to winterize a summer jumpsuit.
The faux leather joggers are from Spanx in a size L. I reviewed these Spanx faux leather joggers in this post; since the post these joggers have been washed twice and still fit the same and look the same. They are really warm and soft on the inside so while they look “fancy,” I often wear them around the house for cozy comfort.

Last night we went to my sister's for dinner and to watch the election results; these joggers were perfect for sitting outside around her fire pit. Because they're lined and wind resistant, they are great for such chilly occasions and look dressier than a pair of sweats or fleece leggings. I expect they will get a lot of wear this ‘demic holiday season of social distancing and being outdoors!
The boots are from La Canadienne and I bought them last year; they are some of the most expensive boots I've ever bought and totally worth it. They are waterproof, but really soft supple leather. They have laces for a custom fit but a zipper to slip on and off easily. If you desire a specific width, these boots come in B, D, and EE. I have a pair of these insoles inside which make them warmer and also give great arch support and cushioning.
The bag you recently saw when I reviewed the Dagne Dover Epic Crossbody. I love the print, the size, and the built-in organization! Sadly, this print is no longer available but the bag comes in great neutrals that work year-round. And if you use Alison10 at checkout you can get 10% off at Dagne Dover.
The bracelet and earrings are both from Rellery, a US-based jewelry brand that sells quality pieces without the department store prices. The bracelet can be customized with any words or phrases and a variety of fonts; I chose a quote that means something to me, my husband, and my daughter. The earrings are so comfy and secure I sleep and even shower in them!
Thanks for sharing the information about the Lafleur Snyder jacket review.

Thank you, Allie! I have been lounging around in my sweats biting my nails regarding the election results since yesterday morning. You inspired me to put on some real clothes and some lipstick and take on the day, whatever it brings. Love the sweater and the pulled-together yet comfy look.

You look so lovely in that ensemble. I need every bit of loveliness I can find this morning, to try to ground me as our national situation hangs in the balance. . . Yesterday I dressed for the election in blue, head to toe. (I hope that is not too partisan of a comment here!) At least that worked out locally and statewide. . .I need to figure out an ensemble for today that will bolster my spirits, something along the lines of what you did but reflecting the lingering summer weather in Arizona (where we still have highs around 90.)
Thank you, Arizona! And thanks for the post – nice to have a respite today.
This is the kind of outfit that resonates with me right now, looks like a “real” outfit and is polished and put together, but is secretly not just comfortable and but also cold weather proof.
