Product Review - Embrace

Do you ever see products and think, "why didn't I think of that?"

Well that is exactly what I thought when I was contacted by Embrace to try out their products - The Bra Strap Solution and A Fresh Pair.

I think one of the tackiest things is to have exposed bra straps - I don't care what celeb or designer is sporting the look, it isn't chic and it isn't stylish. Unfortunately not all fashions work with a traditional bra, and I have found that racer-back and convertible bras are not always as supportive. I have tried many tools on the market to pull my bra straps closer together to work with racer back and cut-out styles of tops and have always been disappointed with the results. I expected Embrace's The Bra Strap Solution to be another disappointment.

The Bra Strap Solution arrives in a very clever package that looks like a matchbook. The tool itself is of clear rigid plastic and reminded me of the little plastic inserts I used to put in 45 RPM records so they would work on the skinny turntable spindle. Looked too simple to actually work... but it did. The packaging offers a few suggestions on how to get the Solution on your bra - I found inserting it from the front (bra backwards), and then spinning the bra around and putting up the straps worked the best for me.

The Bra Strap Solution was comfortable; I didn't even feel it between my shoulder blades and it didn't show through a jersey top. No fiddling with straps or peek-through, this little wonder did the trick! And because it is rigid plastic, it isn't going to break or stretch out like many similar products I have tried over the years.

A Fresh Pair is a concept at first that I found a bit silly... until I thought of the times I have lost my luggage. A few years ago I went on vacation to Italy with my mom and sister and when we arrived in Rome, my sister's and my luggage did not. We spent our first two days of our vacation washing our clothing in the hotel bathroom sink, trading tops with one another so that we didn't look as though we were wearing the same clothes every day.

With today's luggage restrictions for flying, keeping your luggage small and free of as many liquids as possible is a good thing. This makes it hard to prepare your carry-on luggage with necessities that contain liquids. A Fresh Pair is a handy little tool that takes up as much space as a credit card but can be a lifesaver if the unexpected happens.

A Fresh Pair is a little package of sheets of laundry soap specifically for delicates. With water, these leaves of soap become a sudsy cleanser that is safe for the most delicate of fabrics. The soap leaves have a delicate pear fragrance which is a nice change from the overly perfumey or chemical smells of most detergents. Your luggage arrives later than you do, you decide to extend your vacation, a hot, sweaty day or earlier-than-expected monthly visitor happens on your trip, even a small spot on a silk blouse and this teensy pack of soap leaves are there to help. For less than $10, it's worth it to have this in your carry-on luggage at all times... just in case.

Embrace products are available at the Embrace website, and are sold at stores across the US and Canada.

Hey I really like the idea of the bra strap thing. I too hate the sight of bra straps peeking out from clothes. It looks sloppy IMO :)
