Dress: LOFT | Necklace: c/o Sweet & Spark | Shoes: Nine West | Bracelet: Had forever (similar)

I recently found this dress on clearance for about $35 and if you follow me on Instagram you know I've been wearing the heck out of it.  I've worn it to work a couple times and these pictures were taken after I wore it to my dear friend Megan's baby shower.  It's a lightweight crepe that is comfortable now, but come fall and winter would look great with opaque tights and booties.

Every spring I get on a prints kick.  This dress, a graphic print top and skirt combo, and a floral maxi dress are on their way to be featured on the blog and are getting regular wear from me. Maybe it's the flowers blooming or the birds chirping happily at dawn, but I feel this need to have some celebration in my wardrobe and prints do it best!  What have you been wearing lately that screams spring?

I love this dress on you – but the tights look a funny colour, a little too grey? Maybe it’s just the lighting… Agree with the others re a statement colourful shoe though!

No tights, bare legs and I think it was a shadow from the cars parked on the street 🙂

Aaahh in that case ignore me! 🙂

Allie, the dress is fantastic. I am finding myself reaching for pink and coral items along with skirts and ankle pants. 🙂

    Super cute!

OK, that dress for $35?! MAJOR score. Fits you like woah, and love when a dress just requires heels and you’re out the door. Perfection on you.

The shape of this dress (and print) is so perfect on you!! Have you worn it with bright colored shoes? I think that’d be fab too! jodie

I love that dress! It looks so fantastic on you, Allie! In April, I found a fabulous black and white Ann Taylor leopard print blouse at Buffalo Exchange, and I love it–but so far have only worn it once. I adore leopard print when I see it on others, and yet seem to struggle to not feel “animalistic” in a weird way when it’s on me. Animal prints seemed perhaps too sexy (?) to wear in the many years I was a classroom teacher, out of place or perhaps visually distracting. Now that I have been working in faculty administration for almost a year, I am trying to see if I can push my boundaries on this issue, because why is paying homage to a beautiful animal not a good thing?

By the same token, I am now utterly bored with the various floral prints I have worn forever in summer and spring (and winter too) . I adore also stripes, and sometimes in the mood for polka dots. Lol, I seem to be a bit confused about prints these days, in a style transition…..

I find I can wear leopard skirts, leopard dresses, leopard bags and shoes… but tops for some reason seem to… much most of the time. I buy loving how they look but other than my Dobbin top they usually end up collecting dust. Try wearing it under something, be it as scarf or cardigan or blazer, it helps tone it down and help you get comfortable with it. Why IS leopard considered “sexy” when other animal prints (peacock feathers, a colorful snakeskin, dalmatian spots, etc.) aren’t seen in the same manner? It is paying homage to a beautiful animal, I love that you’re pushing boundaries with it!

        Thanks for this input, Allie!

I think it’s considered sexy because in the past leopard WAS the hooker’s skirt on any tv show in the 70s and 80s. Ha! That’s what I have to get over when I wear leopard, the hooker’s skirt….but it sure looks good on other people.

I figure if The Duchess of Cambridge can wear it, when pregnant no less, it has lost its stigma. But old habits die hard! Gosh I think it’s one of the reasons I DO like it! 🙂

Color. I am just craving certain pinks (not usually my thing) and greens. I wear a lot of black but right now all I want is color.

    • Allie at Wardrobe Oxygen May 18, 2015

I too have been craving pink!

      • Aimee May 19, 2015

And do you normally wear pink? I don’t, but these days I’m loving it and enjoying a “new” color.

Not really though I pulled down my summer clothes from the attic there was a pink dress and two pink knit tops!
