Friday – Black is my Mood and my Dress

Sometimes, life can be frustrating. Stressful. Craptastic. This morning, I woke up exhausted, congested, and not wanting to face the day. As I flipped through the clothes in my closet, everything seemed too complicated, too cheery for my mood. I muttered, “FML.” Then I regretted it. I could focus on my pounding sinuses and bags under my eyes, or I could focus on the fact that I was tired because I have a job that motivates me, friends and family who enjoy my company, a beautiful house that deserves to be maintained, a body that works hard and rewards me daily, a mind that has mastered the fine art of multitasking.
I may be dressed for a funeral, but inside I am happy. Though really, I am most happy about this being Friday. I am ready for sleeping in past 5am, curling up on the couch watching Bravo and slowly sipping a cup of coffee. Quality time with my friends and family, and a break from the DC Metro. Speaking of the weekend, will you be attending the Westfield Style Tour at Montgomery Mall this weekend? I'll be there tomorrow with my friend and fellow DC fashion blogger DC Celine and I'll be sure to report on all I experienced (including what Stacy London is like in person)!

I’m a bit late here, but you did look fabulous on Friday. I hope you’re feeling better today and had a great weekend. I admire you for getting up at 5 a.m. every day. I can barely drag my butt out of bed at 6 a.m. I absolutely HATE getting up early!

You’re on a roll these last few days, here is another outfit I love! You may be feeling grouchy but the outfit has a really fun rocker vibe to it with the hair, makeup, jewellery and shoes. I would never have known it was a thrown-on choice. (also the cut of the dress is really great on you)

Love this dress, I think the pockets keep it from being somber. They add a touch of fun! We are going to a friend’s 30th birthday party, where we have to wear 80’s costumes. Should be interesting. Have fun meeting Stacy! That is very cool.

This outfit may be a reflection of a rough morning, but it looks fantastic. I think it improves the impact of your more complicated/colorful ensembles to wear something so simple on occasion. I love it.
