Happy weekend, friends! Here’s what caught our attention on the internet this past week:
Allie loves her Rebecca Minkoff ‘Vanity' bag; it's a style that will endure and having it in a statement color makes it even more versatile than a neutral. This bag in red is on sale for less than $200, which is SUCH a deal.
I gotta say this piece from Bustle had me reexamining my mascara game. I'm liking the look of less makeup but dramatic lashes (stay tuned for an upcoming review of a new favorite lash product!)
Allie has written about Cabi before (here and here and the archives from 2012-2013 have many outfit posts with the clothing), but haven't tried the line in several seasons. The brand recently reached out to Allie, so she hopes to feature some of their spring line in the near future. This piece from Racked goes behind the scenes into this mega clothing brand many have never even heard of.
Even personal stylists have fashion mistakes. Love Brenda and love that she shared this story!
Why is it so hard to find a simple pair of black ankle boots with a walkable heel? Too low, too high, too narrow, too pointy, and too many that are too frumpy. After over a year's search Allie found these from L'Amour des Pieds and they're pretty perfect. Her review may be live by time this post goes live. Sure they're not cheap, but they're the type of boot that you can get resoled each fall, polish, have the cobbler clean up any scuffs on the stacked black wood heel and get years and years of wear. And for those of us with wider ankles and wider feet, these are roomy – no digging, space for thick socks, and they look cute with tights and a dress!
Tweezed your brows in the '90s and they haven't returned to the fullness you desire? I've been reading a lot about microblading eyebrows and this post from Thyme is Honey is making me really curious about this process. Have you had this done? Know anyone who has?
Fashionista says these are the seven trends from NYFW that you'll see this fall. Love to read your thoughts on them.
Reader Lou shared this series of articles in the New York times about Sherman a rescued donkey that Allie gobbled up in one lunch break. Don't like donkeys? Don't care about running? It doesn't matter, you're going to fall in love with this story. Start with this one, and use this link to get to all the other articles in order.
Speaking of which, if you don't have a subscription to the New York Times, they're now offering Spotify Premium free with every All Access subscription! Great news and great music? What a fab combination!
