I cannot believe the wonderful comments you all have written with my recent post. Each time one would show up in my Inbox I would be near tears.

I considered ending blogging all together at the end of 2009 and then I saw Julie and Juliair?t=whaevewomneei 20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B002RSDW80. That movie inspired this household – it got my husband making poached eggs for Sunday brunch, and me knowing I had to keep blogging, even though I just don’t feel as though I currently have the time or spirit.

I may be pretty quiet now, but do know that I am not leaving forever. I love blogging, I love fashion, and I love the friendships I have made with you readers. You all mean so much to me – I may not know you in real life, but I feel as though I know many of you too – through your blogs, through seeing your same screen names pop up in comments, even through recognizing your “voice” through comments over the years. I am honored to be read by you through the years and thank you for sticking with me.

I will “see” you soon!

  1. OMG!!! I have been a loyal reader of your blog for the past 6 months, even though I didn’t know how to “follow” of “comment” or anything related to blogging, I decided that I was going to start an account just so I could comment on your posts b/c I LOVE reading you blog and it has made my day that you are continuing to post!

  2. Woo hoo! Keep blogging, Allie. You know that you have fans who think of you as a friend (remember all the anxious posts asking if you were ok when the train crash happened in DC?) so please keep blogging. We miss you when you’re gone!
Enjoy your husband, baby and life, and blog when you can. Big hugs to you.

  3. Thank you for continuing to blog. I’ve followed your blog for several years and you’ve inspired me in so many ways. I had my first baby 3 1/2 months ago and your pregnancy and new mom style helped me adjust to dressing my changing body and also to my changing feelings toward dressing myself – shopping is truly scaled down with a baby! Please stick around!

  4. Allie, I found your blog when I was at my lowest, not knowing how to look good (in a normal, not over the top way) at a bigger size. I could not pair up outfits for the life of me, and there were so many days I didn’t want to get out of bed (and my poor husband dealt with canceled plans because I wouldn’t/couldn’t get dressed). Your blog inspired me so much to say screw it, I may never be little, that’s okay, but I need to like myself NOW. I loved seeing your classy looks while you were pregnant, mentally bookmarking them for later parts of my life. I am glad you’ve decided to keep blogging. I have been lax on commenting, but I love this blog! Thank you for just being you, rather than the type of blogger who seems to want to brand themselves. (not that there is necessarily anything wrong with that, it’s just few can do it and still be true to themselves).

  5. Allie, I am one of those mostly lurking in the backround readers, but I am a faithful reader, nonetheless. And I would miss you sorely if you leave. Take your well deserved breaks when you need to, but come back as often as you can. You have many more (quiet) readers then you can even imagine, and we love the connection with you!

  6. Glad to hear you are not giving up your blog. It is one of the few that I immediately read when it hits my reader whether it is a daily fashion pic post, family post or whatever else is in your mind.

  7. Allie,

What you write, how you look and what your style sense is has such a timeless sensibility that it would be a shame not to continue your blog, even on a limited basis. You make sense, in a fashion world that is not always kind to the masses. Rock on, sistah, and give us what you can, when you can.

  8. Yay!! 🙂

I don’t comment regularly and I read all your posts through bloglines, so I might not show up as part of your regular traffic. But I’m still there.. enjoying every word.

Maybe I should start commenting more.. 🙂

  9. We appreciate you Allie. Family first. I hope you can find a happy medium and continue to blog in that manner that will not take away from your quality time. I know it will work out! 😉

  10. Yay Allie! I’m so happy that you are going to keep up with your blogging. Yours is by far my favourite website. Don’t put pressure on yourself though. We know you are very busy and would be happy with a post here and there. Eventually maybe you will look into doing something like this professionally (maybe a book?). Like I said in my previous comment, you’ve found your calling! Take care!
