Picture 022By the way had our sonogram last night and found out we're having a girl! We couldn't be more excited! Sonographer also said based on everything, it looks as though she should be due December 28th!

  1. Congrats! My friend’s b’day is 12/28.

I must agree with anonymous regarding combined b’day presents and half-year birthday celebrations. My b’day is 12/30 and always seemed to get lost in the Xmas/New Year shuffle and b’day parties were always a wash as a result.

  2. Yay! How exciting! Let me echo the mother of a boy above and say that girls’ clothes look so fun. We’re all thrilled for you, really. Some people are just jerks who put on their crankypants.

The rest of us are geared up for hearing her name when she comes. We did the same thing…and trust me, after having two friends change their minds after baby came (“He/she just didn’t LOOK like a ‘James’/’Samantha'”) we knew it would be better for all involved if we went to the birth with a couple of “finalists” and looked at him once ourselves, just to be sure. Which is a looong way of saying I totally understand.

  3. Congratulations! You will be a wonderful “girl mom”, think of all the fun you will have together! And I’m sure she’ll learn tons about developing her taste and personal style.

I love your outfit, and I like the long necklaces during pregnancy too!

  4. Congratulations!! As a Mommy of two girls, I can tell you that you’re in for the ride of your life 🙂 I love the “My Onesie Today” suggestion. ROFL!

  5. Congratulations on the little girl–I have two and love having future shopping/lunching friends. I should warn you–they start early! I’m two months along now and so appreciate your maternity advice! You look great!

  6. Congrats! I have two girls and both times I hoped for a boy. (I know, I should just have hoped for a healthy baby…) Anyway, now I don’t know what I would do with little boys, I love my girls! Enjoy!

  7. Okay anonymous, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – don’t like it? Then don’t come here.

For the rest of you who have written the nasty comments and I have chosen not to publish them, why waste your time? Go elsewhere and do other things with your life. I have comment moderation, I have no problem rejecting what you write.

For the rest, thank you so much! We are so excited and all your well wishes mean so much to me!

Julie, I love “My Onesie Today.” Hysterical! Thanks everyone for the suggestions and tips!

Capricorn Anonymous – I think that’s a great idea. My mom and sister are both Capricorns (though in January) and I am an Aquarian January baby, so I know how those winter holidays get all muddled together. Love the half-birthday idea! 🙂

  8. Congratulations! I seem to remember at our dinner at PF Chang’s awhile back, you said of Sarai, “I can’t wait until I have one just like her!” Well, there you go – tada! Wish granted!

  9. Awww, that is such great news!!!! I have always had cute girl clothes envy (having had a boy) and so am always excited when I have to buy a gift for a little girl. So I just compensate by buying lots of pairs of shoes for my boy (which my friends always joke about).
By the way, your hair in that photo looks fabulous!
    Take care!

  10. Frequent reader but never posted – as a girl who grew up with almost that exact birthday, I have two pieces of advice! Resist the combination birthday/Christmas presents until she’s older (and wants something BIG)…and give a small “half birthday” gift every year in June – sometimes the birthday gets lost in the Xmas shuffle 🙂 My parents always did this and it really helped. Capricorns rule! CONGRATS!

  11. oh Allie, congrats!!!!!!!!! I’m so excited for you. A little girl to play dress up with 🙂 Is she going to have own blog of her wardrobe today?? It can be called “My Onesie Today!”

  12. congrats on the little girl! she will be such a stylish little thing.

you do realize you’re going to have to show her daily wardrobe too, right? that doesn’t make it a mommyblog and it’s still about fashion!

  13. Congratulations! It seems that the sonogram news has restored your usual smile.. was worried that it seemed a little muted yesterday!

  14. No names decided yet, but we have decided to not tell anyone until she is born. 🙂

It seems that it’s 50/50 with people I know – if they are finding out or not. We would have been thrilled either way, so either would have been a lovely result! 🙂

Congrats to you on your upcoming baby! 🙂

  15. I”m a fellow preggar (my 2nd) and due on Dec 27th. Congratulations to us both! So, far my hubby and I have opted to NOT find out the sex of the baby… though we’re leaving it open to changing our minds. My first was a girl and I don’t have a preference at all this time around. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and delivery!

  16. As I looked at your picture I thought to myself, “it looks like she’s carrying a girl”. I scrolled down and read that you are. Congratulations!
