Husband: Hey, want me to take your picture for your blog?
Me: Thanks Beeb, that would be great!  I have been such a slacker with photos…
Husband: They say you look thinner if you take pictures from above…

Ha ha, very funny.

Here I am with Emerson before heading out to the car, it's fun when my husband and Emerson drive me to the Metro, I get a bit of extra family time in before the day starts.

Lets not even discuss the hair.  This morning the type of rain was that crazy mist that seems to be coming from every direction and an umbrella is almost pointless.  I didn't even try to do my hair, just took a curling iron to the bangs so they weren't still separated down the middle.  Yeah you can see how well that worked… 🙂

I am still really liking my Almay foundationir?t=whaevewomneei 20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B001ET72HK.  This is just spot usage of the foundation, a light dusting of Tarte bronzerir?t=whaevewomneei 20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B000PUV7LQ, my Revlon ColorStay shadow quad in Neutral Khakisir?t=whaevewomneei 20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B001P2LYOS and DiorShow mascarair?t=whaevewomneei 20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=B001GMANIU.  Super quick and done with an active toddler by my side.  I have learned to keep some makeup brushes I don't love or use often clean and at the ready for Emerson – I will give her one and she will rub it on her face and say, “awwww!”  It's super cute.  Also the drawer of my dressing table, I keep the front left side full of random things I have floating around the bedroom and bathroom that she can play with like a sturdy bangle bracelet, an old cap to foaming face wash, an empty cardboard box from her teething oil.  Then she can reach in and pull it out and feel very cool and make little piles and be distracted enough so I can get my makeup done without ending up looking like Alice Cooper.

  1. Hi Anonymous you didn’t leave your site’s url. Feel free to email me at mywardrobetoday at gmail.com with your site’s link and I will check it out and get back to you 🙂

  2. I have just read your reply to a question about your floors. Please send him my way we have wood floor thoughout our house and I can not keep on top of it! I dread to think of how dirty Orla is going to get when crawling etc!

  3. I love that striped top! My bf does the same thing (taking pics from high up). I think it makes me look shorter rather then thinner, but oh well. 🙂 I hope your day goes well!

  4. It’s my husband. We have very few rugs (area one in the living room and area one in Emerson’s room – the two places where she plays a lot). We don’t have a lot of… stuff. And he’s all about the floors. He will put and old cloth diaper on each foot, spray vinegar water combo in front of him and “skate” over the spray to spot clean, and vacuums almost every day (the vacuum is never put away, always in the corner).

He doesn’t do bathrooms, doesn’t have an eye for detail like dusting or cleaning the fridge, but he is great with keeping the floors and large spaces of the house looking fab!

  5. Totally unrelated but I must say your house looks spotless! Your floors are soo clean! (I’m envious because I’m a slacker in that area; i.e. too tired, etc.)

  6. But of course! I believe the outfit (which has coordinating striped capris) is from Carters and was an Easter gift from my mom. She had a green headband on, but that lasted about 30 seconds… 🙂

  7. I love this outfit, the striped shirt is very French, appropriate for Bastille Day. And I get what you mean, G loves it when I drive into work with him, gives us time together in the morning and starts his day off right.
