New skirt!  It's on sale at Nordstrom – this is a 12 Petite.  Like it – it's a bit more scuba-like than ponte, but it has a lining which keeps it from being bodycon.  Side zipper and zipper pockets.

So I got a new trench – my old raspberry rain coat from LOFT is gorgeous, but too big on me. I saw this baby in the Nordstrom sale and decided to take a chance (this is a Large Petite). It's a very classic style, while it's water-resistant it isn't that weird shiny fabric, has a nice lining in it which gives it weight and warmth, and there isn't a lot of strange/shiny details and embellishments on it. Also it's single breasted – a must for a petite and curvy woman!

  1. Wow.  You look gorgeous.  I love your blog. I get so many ideas.  I am a curvy petite too and love to see what works for my body.

  2. Allie, love this look from head to toe and the trench falls at the perfect length to show off a bit of that hot python print skirt!

  3. In the winter my skin gets really irritated by metals – I have had to take my rings off at night and take some days off to let the skin heal. I always thought it was just gold, but the set is platinum and still maks the skin raw if worn too long, water gets under it, etc. 🙁

  4. That skirt is gorgeous! Did I hear an echo? I think I repeated another commenter! Looking good as usual Miss Alison! I’m wondering if that skirt pattern also comes in sweater form? Silly question but I love the pattern of your skirt.

  5. THAT IS one gorgeous skirt !
OMG it’s amazing how it got cold like in a week, I am packing to visit mom in VA in a few weeks and it seems like i will be packing NOT fall BUT WINTER clothes 🙁
After reading your comment on the Rolling Stones concert, mine was not that bad.

  6. Thanks! I did see the other prints and wanted (there was leopard too!) but they didn’t have in my size. 🙁 When I bought I was planning to wear with color but the tops I considered are all at the cleaners! LOL

  7. I bought that skirt too at Macy’s a few weeks ago, wore it with green. I love it. There’s a camo colored one too that I wanted but wasn’t on sale. You look great though 🙂

  8. Oooh, love that skirt – even the length is perfection! Great trench too. I’ve never been a fan of double breasted either, and I’m not petite or curvy : >

  9. I love this skirt. I don’t have a Nordstrom’s close by, but seeing this skirt, i’m tempted to just take a shot and order it off line. The trench is awesome too. I like that it’s water proof. That’s a bonus, for this style.

  10. Skirt is lovely, and the new trench is just perfect.  SO hear you on the single-breasted thing–when did coat makers decide to bring back the double-breasted look anyway?  And WHY?
